The Escape
~~~~~~~~~~
The innocence is lost in horror;
The tales can never be told.
The guilt brings on more depression;
And all at once,
The child is *old*
He sees his life is passing,
And wonders where his childhood went.
He knows, he can never go back there,
And cries for the lost life that was spent.
He prays at night, to be taken;
From a world he feels is not his home.
He lays awake and wonders,
What he feels in his heart,
Shall never be known.
The pain is like a twisting of the flesh,
Too soon ending, and yet so deep.
He fears his destiny is approaching,
And longs for the relief,
to keep!
God carries the child in his arms,
"Time has come", the angels say;
And as the pain vanishes from his veins,
The sun rises on a new day!
And a new child's life is torn,
A new terror has begun;
A new place in Heaven is prepared,
For yet...another..."Son"
