How is Breast Cancer Diagnosed? Once
Breast Cancer is suspected a series of test can be performed to determine if
cancer is present: Laboratory Tests:
Blood and urine tests can
be used to measure the amounts of substances called tumor markers in the
blood, urine, or certain tissues. Imaging:
Pictures of areas inside the body can help the doctor to determine if a tumor
is present. These pictures may be in
the form of X-rays, CT Scan, or Ultrasound.
Biopsy. Obtaining of a representative tissue sample for microscopic examination, usually to establish a diagnosis.
