DECKS by ALL WORK

Proper Deck Construction
Any successful Building Project starts with a good plan. Choosing the right materials is even more important, but having the knowledge of constructing a structure properly is priceless.

Many things are dependant upon when building a structure and none of them more important then safety. Building codes are set to insure that inadequate building practices do not exist.

Catastrophic collapses are rare but have

happened. At the very least you want to make sure that if you hire a contractor or decide to build it yourself, you understand the language, know what it takes to build it right and are aware of what your paying for.

FIRST STEP: ONE

A sound building starts with a solid foundation, same hold true in constructing a Deck. A concrete footing is poured as a platform to build your deck from.

The depth of your footing is effected by the area you live in. Your local building department can inform you of the depth your footings need to be in order to be below the frost line.

Constructing your deck on top of concrete blocks saves little time and money but are not acceptable building practices.
