Pokemon (known as Pocket Monsters in Japan) are special magical creatures that come in different shapes and sizes. They come in 15 different types like fire, grass, and water. Each pokemon has unique abilities. As time progresses, the pokemon’ level go up where they learn more techniques and at a certain point they can evolve into different and stronger pokemon. Pokemon can be identified using a pokedex. A pokedex is like an electronic dictionary which has stored data on almost every pokemon. These pokemon live in the wild and are owned by trainers. That is what Ash’ (the main character in Pokemon) goal is: To become the best pokemon trainer and earn the title pokemon master. To become a pokemon master you need to catch and train ocer 150 pokemon. You can compete in pokemon tournaments in the pokemon league to test your skills as a pokemon trainer against other fellow trainers. In order to do this you must earn badges. Badges are proof that you can compete in the Pokemon League. Badges can be obtained by going to different pokemon gyms. Here you must have a pokemon battle with the gym leader. They choose how many pokemon may be used. If you defeat the gym leader you get a badge which puts you one step closer to become a pokemon master. Ash makes one friends along the way. he even asks dumb at certain times infront of many people he meets. He and his companions, Brock and Misty, have seen various types of pokemon. Some very rare. On his journey he encounters many hardships like the Notorious Team Rocket. Team Rocket is an evil organization runned by Giovanni. This group is known for commiting crimes like pokemon theft. They do the opposite of good. Jessie and James along with Meowth are always trying to take pokemon they think are strong and rare. They always try to get Pikachu because they think he is special. Even though they have good schemes, there plans are always being foiled by Ash and company. Ash still has a long way to becoming a pokemon master.
