We are in the most beautiful season of all here on Long Island and the weather is wonderful. Crocus have already been seen all around and trees are beginning to bud. Daffodils are showing some life and they should be grand. Wish you all were here to see it.

We are in the throngs of a new Superintendent search. You remember those... Nationwide? Will let you know what transpires. Budget, once again, looks terrible with double digit increases as usual. But Albany will always make its grand stand in early May with “new” found money. Even though things change, they never change.

I have enclosed our June Luncheon reservation and we look forward to seeing you there. These luncheons are very well attended and everyone seems to have a good time. Please fill in and mail to Ruth as indicated. Music is also provided. Sorry for the increase in price but MCRA has been subsidizing these luncheons for about 4 years now and the price has increased too much for us to absorb the whole thing. We continue to subsidize a small portion of it, however. .

Also in the mailing you received was a copy of an e-mail from one of our former graduates, Richard Gabriel (1980). He found our webpage and was delighted. Please read his e-mail carefully and feel good about what MCRA is doing. Those of us who remember Richard and his trumpet will delight at his remembrances.

Another enclosure is our renewal of membership application. Your information, according to our records, is indicated on the label placed on the application. If there are any changes, additions, deletions please make them on the form and return to Joan O’Grady, as indicated, with your $15.00 check. Remember that this is the year for the revised directory and only those who are paid members are included in the directory and will receive one when they are published. Try to send in your renewal as soon as possible to make sure the directory is out in a timely fashion.

We will be accepting nominations from membership nationwide for the Board of Trustees and voting on the slate of nominees will take place at the June Luncheon meeting.
