...Happy news comes to us from Gladys Gregnoli of Newfield H.S. fame. She will be married on October 8, 2005 to a high school friend Edward Meier after almost 55 years. Ceremony at the Church of the Assumption, 12:30 pm. Good Luck to both of them.

... Many of you have sent us additions and corrections to our Wall of Remembrance and we thank you for that. This will go a long way to publish a complete & correct Wall of Remembrance. Please continue to do so if you know or hear of a death. Another copy of the list will be included in the 2006-2007 Directory that will be published next year.

… MCSD is asking for a representative from MCRA for a sub-committee of the Board’s Legislative Committee. Its purpose is to keep an eye on our taxes here on Long Island to see that we get a fair share of what we pay in. Anyone interested please contact Michael.

... Regarding the devastation in the Gulf area, we have heard from Fran and Heinz Hoffmann, (Newfield ESL). We knew they would be in the thick of it having an antebellum home in Biloxi for many years that they operated as a Bed and Breakfast. Sadly, Fran has told Anne Schaedel that their home was completely destroyed by Katrina and they are now in Alabama trying to put the pieces together. They have, so far, said they are not in any immediate need of anything but we will surely try to keep in touch with them and let you know anything else we may hear. Pray for them and all the others.
