Virus Protection

V irus protection on your system is an extremely important matter that cannot be taken too lightly. If you have a computer, you need to have virus protection.

E very day more and more viruses pop up and infiltrate computer systems world wide. Virus protection is like buying a computer. As the newest systems come out there are newer and bigger ones on the way, same with a virus. As a virus comes out and your virus protection combats it, another bigger and stronger virus is on the way. You always need to have the most up-dated protection you can find.

T here are too many good virus protection programs out there to list so the easiest thing to do is to search through the internet under virus protection and read all the different ones out there.

Y ou can also go to your computer store and discuss with the technicians what is the best type of protection for your system. Understand one thing though about virus protection. Buying it is like buying a new car. Everyone have their preference on what is the "best". Get a few opinions from the experts before you decide. Then go and get it and install it in your system.

O nce installed you need to set up a schedule for the protection to automatically come on and scan your system. It is no different than it is when you perform maintenance on your system. Just incorporate the virus scan along with your maintenance schedule.

Note

R emember also, whenever you get an email, attachment or anything else sent to you from the outside world there is always a potential hazzard of getting a virus. The best thing to do is before you open unfamiliar mail etc. run a virus check to be on the safe side.

Note

I f you don't know how to check an email for a virus it is quite simple. Where you would click on it to open it right click on it and when a box opens select "Copy Short Cut". Then on your desk top right click anywhere and choose "Paste Short Cut". Once that is done right click on the icon and select "Properties". When that box opens click on the "Virus"tab. It will tell you if any virus was found.

B y chance the check comes up positive ( Do Not Open It! ). You can either just delete it and notify the person who sent it of this, or forward it (after you zip the unopened email) "Without Opening It!" to "virus_doctor@trendmicro.com"

B e sure to advise them in the "Subject" of the email that a virus was detected and you have inclosed it in a zip file format for them to check out and advise.

I f you still have questions on this feel free to contact us.
