Day 29
Saturday August 25, 2012
Today we started off with a quickie breakfast in the room that I picked up down at the deli consisting of some cinnamon rolls and coffee. Once we were energized it was down to the casino to hit the video poker machines.
We started off with triple play today. I was doing well and hit a few quads to start off the session. Dee pretty much got beat on from the start. She had lost a bill fairly quickly and I was up a bill in the same amount of time so I cashed out and we both started fresh from here. That's when it went downhill for me. I dropped the next $100 in less than 10 minutes and another one 20 minutes after that. Dee was back to her normal self and was hovering quite nicely. I was down close to 3 bills by now but then pulled a straight flush, quad 3's, a dealt full house, a dealt flush, and quad aces with about 5 minutes to get back to even.
We continued to pound away for a little while longer with Dee hitting a few quads. I was holding steady before the bleed and eventually dropped $100 but Dee held steady and cashed out even for just a $100 loss for the session.
We took a break and got a light lunch to hold us over until dinner at the deli. Dee went with her chili again and I got a bowl of beef barley soup and we split an order of egg rolls again. The foods were ok today but they weren't hot enough.
From here we came up here to the room for a short break and then it was back to the casino to hit the video poker machines again. We chose the 9/6 jacks progressive this time. Dee popped a quad right away while I started to bleed instantly. I was down $50 and other than 2 pair and high pair had only hit 1 full house, 1 flush, 1 straight and two 3 of a kinds. I did finally hit a quad at that point (of course, it was aces and a kicker). I had my meter up and down between $50 and $130 multiple times all while Dee hovered right around even. When we cashed out I was down $50 and Dee was of course even.
For a late dinner tonight we went to Billy Bob's Steakhouse. Dee has been craving lobster the whole trip and tonight was the night she was going to get to have some. Being that we were on RFB tonight I didn't even mind that it was listed as "market price" on the menu. I even suggested she order 5 of them! I ordered the coconut crusted chicken for us to share as an appetizer and the 20oz bone in prime rib. Our meals also came with salads and baked potatoes. The foods here are always large portions and the food was also very good. We ended the meal with the apple torte and vanilla ice cream. We were both stuffed when we were done but didn't over do it. I was amazed at the bill when it arrived at under $100 including the tax. It turned out that "market price" was just $35 tonight.
Once we were finally finished with dinner we hit the video poker machines one more time. We hit the 9/6 jacks or better progressive again. Dee used the $100 ticket from earlier and I used my $50 ticket. Dee as always hovered and I blew through that $50 in no time. I moved over one machine and started over again and got my ass handed to me. Between getting low paired to death, hitting no quads, holding single high cards with no payback and going 10 hands in a row without wins, I didn't stand a chance. I fed in another bill and switched to 8/5 bonus and hoped to hit aces or a few bonus quads. I did manage to pull quad 4's to get a little bump in the credit meter but nothing else came up and I ended up cashing out this $100. Meanwhile back at Dee's machine she was still hovering this whole time (we got to the machine just before 10pm and it was now after midnight). She was getting tired so cashed out a small ticket but for the most part she lost the full $100. I'm still puzzled by how she can do this. Technically speaking, she played on the same bill at triple play this morning, the earlier session at the progressives, and this whole session and didn't even bust out.
We got back up to the room a little after 12 and packed it in for the night.
Total win/loss for the day -$400
Total Comps for the day $212
