Day 17
Monday August 13, 2012
When we woke up today we were both hungry so I ran down to the deli and grabbed some breakfast. I got a giant chocolate chip cookie for us to share and a giant fruit platter that we also shared. It was good to eat a little lighter (even with the cookie) than to eat a full breakfast when we got up.

After breakfast we got ready for the day and for a change of pace left the Suncoast for the afternoon and headed down to Tuscany to play on their gift card promo. For 1000 points you get a $10 gift card and don't have to redeem any points. We played some triple play here to be able to run some coin through a little quicker. Dee was getting beat up on but hit quad 4's and then hit a set of aces. I hit a few quads right off the start and ran the meter up. I was up over $130 at one point but that's when it turned. I started getting low paired to death but Dee held steady. I eventually lost my bill and put in another one. When we were 2/3 of the way through the promo we were only down about $20. We moved to single line to hopefully max out and smooth things out a bit. This worked out well for Dee as she saw her meter climb. It wasn't so good for me though as I dropped another pile of money. When we finally finished we were down $200, thanks to Dee's hovering power.

We cashed out and hit the slot club booth to collect the gift cards. I chose Wal-Mart today and walked away with $60 worth to help offset the losses at the machines. While I was at the booth I found out I had $25 in free play and $77 in comps so we set out to have dinner at Marilyn’s Cafe.

Dee started us off with a fried Zucchini appetizer and she ordered the baked ziti. I ordered the pot roast dinner with green beans and mashed potatoes. The food was good and the portions here are huge. It's easily enough for 2 meals. My only complaint would be that the green beans were canned. When we were in line to "pay" another customer offered me a coupon good for $10 off a $20 purchase. I didn’t think they would let me double dip using a discount coupon and then comps but he said they do allow it so I took the coupon and sure enough it worked. It was just like he handed me a $10 bill as far as I'm concerned.

After dinner we played the $25 in free play through a penny slot for some fun. We cashed out $10 of it and took that $10 over to the roulette table. I had a couple of match plays from the American Casino Guide that we were going to play. Dee started off with odd and lost and on the next spin I played black and won for a $5 net profit on coupons.

From here it was to the car and back up to the Suncoast. We came up here to the room for a break and packed up some of our things because we have to move tomorrow. It always makes things easier to not have to pack everything in the morning.

After we packed and had a short break it was on to the casino. We stuck to single line quarters tonight and stayed away from the dollar games to preserve bankroll. Dee hovered as always and was streaky but started off with a few quads early on included a set of dealt deuces. The highlight of the session came when I was dealt 4 to a royal and pulled the 10 to fill it up with our 6th royal of the trip and the 4th for quarters. I cashed out my ticket and started with a fresh $100 bill. There were no other hands to note this session other than a quad drought. The odd thing was even with the quads not hitting we played for close to 3 hours on our initial bills and didn't bust out. Dee lost $87 and I lost $40 (not counting the royal money). Combined we ran almost 5k through the machines this session. I think it was the abundance of full houses that kept us going for so long.

After this marathon session Dee wanted to play the hundred plays for a while so we took her ticket and $20 and played for about 45 minutes. There was a lack of dealt winners and drawing quads but we were able to keep going for a while and squeezed out a $2.52 win here (someone left 2¢ in credits on the machine). It was now going on 2am and it was bedtime!

Total win/loss for the day $650
Total Comps for the day $201
