Day 7 (10 Jan 99) Odometer 112711 kms. Got up at 0900 hrs (CST) the next morning and Jeff and I made our way to where my car had slept. Then we drove to Joe and Bea's place for breakfast. What a feast! Everything you can imagine was put in front of us. So glad I stopped, wouldn't have missed it for the world. At 1030 hrs (CST) I really had to get moving. So I said my farewells and stopped at the crossroads for gas (-45 Celcius in the wind). Drove to Russell, Manitoba (206 kms) and filled up again. Headed west once again and got as far as Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Was thinking about heading south towards Regina where the Saskatchewan Curling Team was holed up, but that will be another adventure some day (stay tuned). Made it into Saskatoon (445 kms) by 1800 hrs (CST) and it is snowing pretty good, so I bunked out for the night at the Travel Lodge (real nice place, too). |
