The Stephen Cohen Gallery Presents
Photographs by Andre de Dienes

From May 9-June 8, 2002 The Stephen Cohen Gallery is displaying Andre de Dienes photos of a young, pre-stardom Marilyn Monroe. This is a special event to promote the August 2002 release of Shirley de Dienes book, Becoming Marilyn. The book will present never before seen photos of a young Marilyn Monroe as well as the diary of photographer Andre de Dienes.

Shirley de Dienes, widow of Andre de Dienes, invited the fan club members of Marilyn Remembered to this special exhibit on May 9th, 2002. It was a champagne reception, which featured rare and wonderful photographs of Marilyn Monroe lining the gallery wall. Among the many guests in attendance were Marilyn photographer's Douglas Kirkland (pictured center/group photo of 3 women with Mr. Kirkland) and George Barris.

THE HOLLYGROVE/RIPLEY'S EVENT

On November 10th, 2001 George Barris (photographer and friend to Marilyn Monroe) and Vicky Mirisch, in cordination with The Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum helped to organize a wonderful event for the children of the Hollygrove Orphange.
