Climb to the top of the fortress where you'll find a huge cement monster. Three pounds on his back kills him.
Climb to the top of the fortress where Whomp was and there will be a tower with moving platforms. Climb to the top of the tower and there's your star.
For this star talk to the pink bob-omb located on the lower platform where you shallow water is. Enter the cannon and you should see an extention from the main structure and a lower platform attached below. Shoot to the platform and there's your star.
Collect 8 red coins. Most are wasy to find. Some are located on the rotating floating islands. One is located above the Thwomp on the stone steps near the beginning of the course.
Where you begin the course there are trees. Jump into one of the trees to wake up an owl. Grab onto him and direct him over the small caed island near the rotating platforms. Drop down into the island. You can also shoot to it in the cannon, but I find the other way much easier.
Enter the cannon and shoot the very corner of the wall with the man-eating plant. If you hit it right the corner will blow off revealing a star.
