Jay Micciche Speaks

I met K2T at the White Horse in High Wycombe, when we (Vacant Stare) supported them. It was a cool gig!! I guess it was Mark's idea for me to be a guest drummer. He thought about getting me in whilst driving down the motor way late on the thursday night before the Lost Weekend.

That gig was definitely the best day of my life so far!! It was so awesome to play to so many people and being under the pressure of playing songs I didn't really know made it a great challenge. I feel I did a pretty good job and I am happy that I didn't let Mark and the crew down, that was my biggest worry, but they all seemed happy with my performance. I would absolutely do it again. If they needed my help then I would be more than happy to do it. I had a great time playing with them!!

The good sides of being in a band are that you get to do and see things that most people don't get to experience, having 4 cool friends that I can hang out with and have a laugh with. Meeting new people all the time is cool, and playing gigs is just the best thing about it, I love to play live. The bad side has got to be having no money and working your arse off for very little recognition from magazines and record companies. But I try not to think about that shit to often. I can't ever imagine doing anything else other than playing drums in a metal band.

As for Vacant Stare, hopefully we will be able to get a good deal in the next few months to realease an album and to tour as much as we can. We have loads of really good things happening to us right now, We have the Kerrang! evolution tour coming up and we are making a promo video for the song "Prognosis", also a release of the three tracks that are on our demo, on 7" vinyl in Japan, that should be happening in a couple of weeks. So the future looks bright.

If I had advice to give to people starting out as musicians it would be to just practice your arse off and don't give up, Patience is very important in this business, if you stick with it you'll get there in the end.
