May 16-20 2003 Photographs

The crew on this trip consisted of: Warren Anderson, Brien Johnson, Dan Eisinger, Lach Dunlop, Matt Wright and Chris Wright.

The Sag 2003 trip was among the best we've ever had! (photos)  The weather was nice overall. Saturday was mostly sunny with a high of 80 degrees. Sunday was mostly cloudy and cooler.  It rained almost all day Monday and got downright chilly.

Fishing was very good with Walleyes generally ranging from 15" - 22". Brien got "first", Sven got "most" and Sven got "biggest" with a 25" Walleye. Sven also landed a 33" northern. We did a lot of catch and release. The lake was extremely low this year. Maybe two to three feet low. We had to dodge a few rocks.

The food and beer was Top-Shelf as usual. Dan's chilli and Warren's fajitas were awesome. Knarly's breakfast on Tuesday got us all the way past Duluth. We came back with only five bottles of beer. The trip went entirely too fast as usual.

Pat, Sammy, Stan and the rest of the guys from St. Peter were at Powell's enjoying the new deck on the cabin(s). We had a few Milwaukee's Best Lights with them. Hey, it was free!

Highlights: Outstanding fishing! Everyone caught their limit. Lach was back! Dan's 25 hp motor left the rest of us in the dust, although Warren was still breaking in his new Merc 25 horse. We got Conner's island.

Lowlights: Low water level made navigation difficult (one of the St. Peter group got his boat airborne). Cold and rainy Tuesday morning made filleting difficult and teardown wet.

Gas, fire, beer and Knarly, a dangerous combination!
