Men In Black is an adaption of the cult comic book in
which secret agents defend earth against dangerous
alien invaders with the help of various technologically-
advanced gadgets. Theirs is a secret society whose
practices are unknown to the general public (not
unlike the FBI).

The story follows two agents, one of which has just
been recruited into the secret society and another
who is reaching the end of a long career and seems
to be looking forward to retirement.

Will Smith is the new guy who is overwhelmed by
the technology of the Men In Black and also by
the many different aliens that work with the
society and against it. He is young and cocky and
to offset all the turmoil around him, he makes
frequent wise-cracks to lighten the mood. Tommy
Lee Jones is the veteran alien-chaser who could
be likened to Joe Friday of Dragnet. He is all-
business and always speaks in monotone.

The agents must stop an alien assassin from
murdering a visiting alien ambassador. and run
into a cast of colorful characters, most of them
alien in origin.

The special effects make this movie one of the
most entertaining I've ever seen. The story may
be hard to follow, but who cares when you're
having this much fun? Men In Black seemed to
end far too quickly.

The audience was begging for more and so was I.
But all good things must end. There is a sequel
in the works, though, and I expect it will be
just as fun as the original. My little brother
said it was the coolest movie he has ever seen.
I would have to agree. This is the kind of film
that makes you feel like a kid again.
