vicious attack--tiny serrated teeth are found and linked to
Dromaeosaurus; members of the raptor family. However, the bones also
reveal evidence of a second attacker--Tyrannosaurus Rex. Watch as
experts recreate the events leading up to the slaughter of
Edmontosaurus, revealing a predatory world far more calculated--and
complex--than we originally thought.
10-11pm -- Jurassic Fight Club - Gang Killers
In south central Montana, a group of bird-like predators called
Deinonychus are unearthed, altering our view of dinosaurs forever.
Scientists are quick to recognize that these creatures, equipped with
a deeply recurved sickle-shaped claw, do not fit into the image of a
slow-moving, cold-blooded dinosaur. Lying next to the skeletons of
these raptors were the remains of a large plant-eating dinosaur called
Tenontosaurus. Modern CAT Scanners help scientists get a
never-before-seen look into how these animals moved, fought and
behaved. Watch as experts recreate what happened when a pack of deadly
raptors took on an adversary more than twice their own size.

wouldn't be the third largest city in the U.S. today if it weren't for
the shady dealings that went on just beneath its streets. From vice
dens and top-secret railroad lines to sunken shipwrecks and the spark
that created the A-Bomb, host Don Wildman unearths the true history of
the Windy City.

notorious and dangerous gangs.

8-10pm -- God vs. Satan -
What will the battle of Armageddon look like? Will it take place at a
battlefield in Meggido, Israel, as stated in the Bible? Take a tour of
the final days on earth as envisioned by believers of the three
Abrahamic religions; Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Examine the
final chapter of the ultimate battle between good and evil from
accounts in the Talmud, the book of Revelation and the Koran. Discover
how these religions differ, where they agree and what might occur
during this epic war.

10-12am -- Banned from The Bible II -
Take another look at ancient texts that were edited out of the Bible.
Are they the missing links to Christ's true teachings, or heretical
attempts to rewrite history? Explore the kabalistic stories of angels
and demons disavowed by orthodox leaders, and the apocalyptic visions
and the sexual imagery that were barred from the Old Testament. Why
was Peter's account of a "Lord of The Rings"-style battle of wits and
magic repressed by Rome? With discoveries being made all across the
world--in caves, ruined temples, ancient libraries and
monasteries--these tantalizing fragments continue to be found and
debated. Are they heresy or hidden truth?

7-8pm -- Modern Marvels - Dams
They block the force of a river, produce enough electricity to power
cities, move water over hundreds of miles and irrigate fertile
valleys. Dams prevent floods and produce "green" energy. We'll visit a
hydroelectric dam, the most technologically advanced type of dam, and
a dam in Brazil that is five times the size of the Hoover Dam. At the
Utah State University Water Research Laboratory Hydraulics Lab in
Logan, Utah, we watch a model of a dam crumble beneath tons of water
and discuss how future dam failures can be averted. We will learn how
dams adversely affect river systems and as a result, there are many
proponents of dam removal.

8-9pm -- Modern Marvels - Bulls-Eye
From LAPD's sharp shooters to Army snipers, discover what it means to
be armed and accurate. Learn how ancient ballista and trebuchet could
repeatedly strike their targets. Find out how the Phoenix Lander will
navigate to its target some 422 million miles away. See a nine ball
expert hit several bulls-eyes, sometimes with the same shot to run the
table. Finally, watch as Cirque de Soleil's daring artists are both
projectile and target as they perform their breathtaking feats.

meltdown. Visit giant solar energy towers in Spain, install a rooftop
wind turbine and ride in a car that runs on air. Will a daring attempt
to remove carbon dioxide from our atmosphere by dumping iron in the
ocean really work? Discover how everyone can go green with the flick
of a switch.

8-10pm -- Godfathers -
A 2-hour panoramic and global overview of the phenomenon known as Cosa
Nostra--from the mass immigration of Italians to the US at the end of
the 19th century up to the arrests in 2000 on the New York Stock
Exchange, where the Mafia was laundering money. What becomes evident
in a chain of stories depicting the most renowned "godfathers" is
their uncanny ability to act as political representatives of an
illegal state within the legal state and to exploit major cycles and
crises throughout history.

10-12am -- Crime Wave: 18 Months of Mayhem -
John Dillinger, Machine Gun Kelly, Baby Face Nelson, and Bonnie and
Clyde are some of the most notorious criminals of the last century.
Technological advances like the Tommy Gun, V-8 engines with electric
starters, and bulletproof vests often gave the robbers the advantage
over the police. A spree of robberies, killings and kidnappings during
an 18-month period from 1933 to 1934 shook the nation to its core. The
government responded with a war on crime that began with America's
first national police force and the rise of the FBI. HD location
photography, archival footage and evocative recreations are used to
transport the viewer back to this era and to capture the hectic pace
of this crime wave.

Developed in 1947 as an image to symbolize urgency in the Cold War and
the threat of nuclear disaster, the mission of the Doomsday Clock has
expanded to include non-nuclear global security issues. Maintained by
the Board of Directors of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, it's
based at the University of Chicago. In response to world events, they
move the clock's minute hand closer to or away from
midnight--doomsday. In this hour, we cover the clock's history, its
effectiveness, and its critics.

8-9pm -- MonsterQuest - Giant Squid Ambush
Does a monster of gigantic proportions thrive one thousand feet under
the ocean's surface in the Sea of Cortez? Watch video evidence
captured in 2006 by our expedition team of what appears to be a giant
squid. Although the footage is less than two seconds long, and
difficult to analyze, some experts believe that the squid can be as
large as one hundred feet in length. Return to the area with our team,
equipped with improved technology, to find proof of this legendary sea
beast.

9-10pm -- MonsterQuest - Monster Spiders
Join an expedition into the wilderness of South America on the hunt
for a monster-sized predatory spider. In the forests of Peru there are
reports of spiders big enough to hunt and eat a small dog, and
villagers build their huts in such a way as to keep giant spiders out.
In 2006 an American soldier in Iraq was photographed with what
appeared to be a three foot long arachnid. Watch as experts
investigate the validity of these and other strange sightings, and
examine man's fear of spiders.

10-11pm -- Jurassic Fight Club - Armageddon
Sixty-five million years ago an asteroid the size of Mt. Everest
slammed into the earth near South America exploding with the force of
a million nuclear bombs and unleashing the power of the sun. The
entire biomass of the earth was set ablaze, the atmosphere was cooked
and millions of life forms were wiped from the planet. Watch as
experts, using the latest in modern scientific technology, reconstruct
the last moments on earth and recreate the day that earth faced an
unimaginable assault from space.

We played with them as children, but the world of magnets isn't kid's
stuff! The pervasive magnet serves as the underpinning for much of
modern technology. They can be found in computers, cars, phones, VCRs,
TVs, vacuum cleaners, the washer and dryer, the ubiquitous
refrigerator magnet, and even in an electric guitar! On the cutting
edge of technology, scientists experiment with a variety of magnets.
Magnets' amazing forces of attraction and repulsion may some day take
us to the far reaches of outer space.

8-9pm -- Decoding The Past - Mayan Doomsday Prophecy
The world is coming to an end on December 21, 2012! The ancient Maya
made this stunning prediction more than 2,000 years ago. We'll peel
back the layers of mystery and examine in detail how the Maya
calculated the exact date of doomsday. Journey back to the ancient
city of Chichen Itza, the hub of Maya civilization deep in the heart
of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, to uncover the truth about this
prophecy. The Maya were legendary astronomers and timekeepers--their
calendar is more accurate than our own. By tracking the stars and
planets they assigned great meaning to astronomical phenomena and made
extraordinary predictions based on them--many of which have come true.
Could their doomsday prophecy be one of them? In insightful interviews
archaeologists, astrologers, and historians speculate on the meaning
of the 2012 prophecy. Their answers are as intriguing as the
questions.

powerful, a meteor hammer or a punch? Can Chi Warriors really kill a
man with a single touch? Investigate the ability of eastern warriors
to withstand pain such as smashing concrete on live human heads.
Finally, ancient Chinese crossbows are examined, including one small
enough to fit up your sleeve.

10-11pm -- Cities of the Underworld - Underground Apocalypse
For billions of people across the globe, Jerusalem is considered
ground zero for Armageddon. And while most of the world's population
considers it a holy land, it's also one of the bloodiest cities the
world has ever known. From a hidden occult city built by the Knights
Templar to the hiding place for the Dead Sea Scrolls, the evidence of
the apocalypse is buried all over the holy city. Host Don Wildman has
special access to a sacred stone said to keep the world from ultimate

8-9pm -- MonsterQuest - The Real Hobbit
Travel to the interior of Sumatra, in Indonesia, in a search for what
locals call the Orang Pendak, translated as: Man of the Woods. In 2004
skeletal remains were found on the neighboring island of Flores and
named "the Real Hobbit." Could Orang Pendak, with its human face, be a
surviving ancestor to the Flores Man? An expedition is launched deep
within the rainforest. The natives claim to see the creature often,
and they even find footprints of an unknown upright walking beast.
Will camera traps reveal its identity? One-part history, one-part
science and one part monster, discover the truth behind legendary
monsters.

9-10pm -- MonsterQuest - Giant Killer Snakes
Head deep into the Venezuela wilderness where there have been
sightings of huge man-eating snakes--anaconda. For the first time ever
an industrial acoustic sonar camera will be used to search for these
monsters. The investigation will also search the Everglades of Florida
where pet pythons have escaped and are multiplying and growing to huge
sizes, preying on all kinds of animals, even swallowing a full grown
alligator in one case. Could a human become their next victim?

10-11pm -- MonsterQuest - Boneless Horror
Throughout history there have been sightings of a massive Octopus big
enough to attack and sink boats. Could such a creature really exist?
Our divers probe the depths of the North Pacific where the world's
largest known species of octopus lives. Could these octopuses be a
food source for a monster? The investigation will use various
underwater camera systems, including a tiny camera small enough to
probe inside octopus lairs. Deep waters, rough currents, freezing
temperatures and the prospect of encountering a 20-ton boneless horror
make this a dangerous expedition.

9-10pm -- Cities of the Underworld - City of Blood
Hundreds of ghost stories lurk in the shadows of London, England, but
behind every myth and legend is the terrifying truth that sheds light
on one of the darkest periods of this city's history. In Victorian
times, violent crimes, extreme poverty and lawlessness forced
Londoners to band together to survive. In a time when science and
medicine challenged the Church, and disease and overpopulation drove
the poor to do jobs only the Devil himself could imagine, London set
the stage for chaos. From body snatchers and serial killers to occult
clubs and pagan rituals, Victorian Londoners lived by their own

Join us for a salute to the dreamers and schemers who brought the
world an odd assortment of flawed ideas--like flying, swimming, and
jet-powered automobiles, flying rocket belts, and radium-filled
clothes that promised to inflate the owner's sagging love life! And we
explore the minds of the off-kilter geniuses who thought up these
off-the-mark concepts. Some tinkerers' musings were merely ahead of
their time and deemed flops during the inventor's lifetime, but others
were just plain bad!

8-9pm -- Modern Marvels - Chocolate
Americans eat over three and a half billion pounds of chocolate each
year--that's 12 pounds per person per year with annual sales topping
$13 billion! Take a tour through the entire chocolate making process
and learn how chocolate has been thought of as an energizer, an
aphrodisiac and a cure-all. Watch as colorful M&Ms are made by the
millions at Mars. Visit a working cacao bean farm in Central America
for a demonstration of the hand harvesting techniques that have
remained unchanged for centuries. To the delight of those who indulge,
this awesome edible is now even good for you--full of antioxidants,
cholesterol-lowering polyphenols, and heart-healthy flavonols.

9-10pm -- Modern Marvels - Snackfood Tech.

manufacturing adhesives, plastics, or parts for your car? No, they're
making treats for your mouth--and you will see them doing their
seductively tasty work in this scrumptious episode. First, we visit
Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, Pennsylvania, that produces more than
one million pounds of chips per week, and Snyder's of Hanover, the
leading US pretzel manufacturer. Next, we focus on the world's largest
candy manufacturer, Masterfoods USA, which makes Milky Way, Snickers,
Mars, and M&Ms, and take a lick at the world's largest lollipop
producer, Tootsie Roll Industries. And at Flower Foods' Crossville,
Tennessee plant, an army of cupcakes rolls down a conveyer belt. The
final stop is Dreyer's Bakersfield, California plant, where 20,000 ice
cream bars and 9,600 drumsticks roll off the line in an hour.

7-8pm -- Modern Marvels - It Came from Outer Space
Discover how essential space travel technologies have journeyed back
to Earth with surprising and indispensable commercial applications.
For example, paint that can withstand the heat of reentry now protects
our steel-framed high-rises from collapsing in a fire. Batteries that
can take a sports car from zero to 60 in four seconds also keep our
satellites in orbit. The oxygen tank used by firefighters to save
countless lives is just like the one used by our astronauts during the
Apollo missions. These and many ordinary objects are traced back to
their NASA roots, where they originally had the right stuff.

8-9pm -- MonsterQuest - Monster Spiders
Join an expedition into the wilderness of South America on the hunt
for a monster-sized predatory spider. In the forests of Peru there are
reports of spiders big enough to hunt and eat a small dog, and

9-10pm -- MonsterQuest - Jaws in Illinois
One of the deadliest predators in the ocean, the Bull Shark, can
tolerate fresh water. It can swim hundreds of miles upstream--one
strange photo from the 1930s suggests that sharks can even reach
Illinois. Come along with our team as they look for proof of sharks in
freshwater, uncovering a deadly attack from history, and searching the
bayous of Louisiana for predators. Watch as another expedition finds
living evidence of a massive beast as big as a Great White Shark in
the St. Lawrence River.

10-11pm -- UFO Hunters - Invasion Illinois
Analysis of video taken of an alleged UFO over Illinois suggests the
object could have been as large as 1500 feet across. The video,
featured on UFO HUNTERS, captured three bright lights in a triangular
pattern. It was part of a mass sighting of over fifty reports near
Tinley Park, Illinois in 2004. Upon investigating, the team discovered
that similar objects were reported all over the world in the days
surrounding this event--from Australia to Canada. Sightings of
triangular-shaped UFOs have been on the rise in recent decades, but
was the Tinley Park mass sighting a solid object, or as some believe,
a hoax involving weather balloons and flares? Analysis of the video
suggests it could have been a solid object larger than any known
craft.

7-8pm -- Modern Marvels - Castles & Dungeons.
Some of the most imposing structures ever built, medieval castles
withstood both bloody assaults and the test of time. Designed like
machines with nearly every architectural detail devoted to defense,
castles represented the perfect fusion of form and function. Journey
back to that unruly era as we examine the complexity of their
construction and the multipurpose they served--homes to kings and
nobles, economic centers, courthouses, treasuries, prisons, and
torture chambers.

8-9pm -- Modern Marvels - Candy.
It pulls, stretches, bubbles, hardens, crunches, and melts! We eat
about 7-billion tons of it yearly. We're talking about Candy--loved by
kids and savored by adults. Candy-making evolved from a handmade
operation to high-tech mass production. Nowhere is that more apparent
than at Hershey's. On a tour of their newest production facility, we
learn how they process the cocoa bean. At See's Candy, we see how they
make their famous boxed chocolates--on a slightly smaller scale than
Hershey's. We get a sweet history lesson at Schimpff's Confectionery,
where they still use small kettles, natural flavors, and hand-operated
equipment. Then, we visit Jelly Belly, purveyors of the original
gourmet jellybean. Saltwater-taffy pullers hypnotize us on our
sweet-tooth tour; we gaze at extruders making miles of licorice rope;
and watch as nostalgia candy bars Abba-Zaba and Big Hunk get packaged.
And in this sugary hour, we digest the latest sensations--gourmet
chocolates and scorpion on a stick!

9-10pm -- Ancient Discoveries - Impossible Naval Engineering
Naval engineering has led the way in technological advances through
all History. For the simple reason that if anything goes wrong at sea,
you're dead. Relive the most extraordinary Naval ambitions of
antiquity. The macabre collapsible death-yacht, commissioned by Roman
emperor Nero, as a one- time-only assassination device--designed to
kill his own mother. The ship that needed no engine and powered
up-river by itself. The underwater booby trap defense system that
smashed through pirate hulls in 15th century Italy. The chemical bomb
fire ships that killed hundreds on the high seas of ancient Greece.
And in a high adrenaline investigation, for the first time on
television, we build and test the oldest white-water rapids crafts
ever discovered.

Good Morning, Mr. Bond

Episodes of the quirky Northern Exposure are on Hallmark Channel. And episodes of the even quirkier "Twin Peaks" are sometimes on Bravo. Monstervision review & host segments of the Twin Peaks movie "Firewalk With Me."

Fun fact:
Griffith Park Observatory According to Ripley's Believe It Or Not, the 800-mile long Aruwimi River, which flows through the Aruwimi Forest in the Congo, was unwittingly named by famous explorer David Livingstone. He asked a native what the name of the river was. The native replied "Aruwimi," which means, "What is he saying?"

In 1942, Adolf Hitler inherited 9,000 acres of grazing land in Colorado from German relatives. The PT Boat of WW2 was based on a blueprint from Andrew Higgins, a bootlegger who had used the speedboat design for rumrunning during Prohibition. And Arlington National Cemetery has four Tomb Of The Unknown Soldiers (WW1, WW2, Korea & Vietnam) but only 3 bodies: identification processes have become so good that all remains returned from Vietnam are eventually identified!

In 1963, ventriloquist Paul Winchell was awarded a patent for the first successful artificial heart. The plastic heart was first tested on a calf, which lived 94 days.

"I've come up with a set of rules that describe our reactions to technologies:
1. Anything that is in the world when you're born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
2. Anything that's invented between when you're fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
3. Anything invented after you're thirty-five is against the natural order of things." Douglas Adams (1952-2001, Hitchhhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
