Sandy's Place Sandy's Place is the first floor apartment in this one hundred year old landmark. Formerly the New Hampshire Home in the early part of the last century, the house passed through private hands until 1985, when Sandra Rhodes bought it and renovated to its prior glory. Now approaching twenty years of service, the Rhodeside Guest House continues to delight travellers and vacation goers, young and old alike.
First time visitors step up to the wrap around porch of the Guest House and admire its commanding view of the approach to downtown. Soon after settling in, the porch often acts a staging area for the day's activities, and then stands in as a place to relax while all recount the day's events in the evening. The porch comes equipped with a full size gas grill, easy seating, and a table for outdoor meals.
Walking from the porch into the foyer of the house immediately brings to mind the timelessness of New England homes. From the 1950's era console radio on the right to the coat valet and rocking chair on the left, one gets a sense of the place ... tastefully decorated, carefully arranged, with soft carpets underneath your feet and bright white walls reflecting plenty of light shining in from the outside. Sandy's Place is the first door on the left.
The first room in Sandy's Place is the living room. Bright and airy, separated from the kitchen by french doors, the living room is bigger than comparible rooms in many travellers' own homes. Its a great room to gather for a movie in the evening. One end of the room has a bay window, great for reading the paper in the morning and curling up to read a good novel at night. The kitchen is on the right.
The kitchen is huge, with a table and bay window on the left and a full set of appliances and plentiful cooking space on the right. A Full sized stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave is waiting to assist you with your lobster and garlic bread feast. Dishes, cookware, and cutlery make things easy.
Past the kitchen is a short hallway. On the left is a spacious closet. On the right is the bathroom. At the end of this hallway is the master bedroom. Decorated in a 1920's style with Victorian wallpaper, the queen sized bed and sturdy bureau await your use. Linens and towels are supplied.
To the right of the doorway into the master bedroom is the entrance to the second bedroom. Furnished with two twin beds and decorated in the same fashion as the master bedroom, the second bedroom also comes with plenty of drawer space. Sandy's Place and the Rhodeside Guest House ... your home away from home! The Guest House is only 1 block from the beach and the downtown area, including the famous Goldenrod's.
