~ An Ancient Chinese Proverb ~

SEPTEMBER 27th, 2007

We had a completely "free day" with no appointments or schedules to follow.

Our sweet little girl

We were warned that adopted Chinese children do not like swimming pools. Other parents at the White Swan Hotel (which is 90% Americans adopting Chinese children) told us that it took them an average of 4 tries before their child even put a toe in the pool without freaking.

NOT OUR GIRL! She jumped off the side of the pool, swam under water, blew bubbles, and kicked her legs. She just loved it. Thank GOD! Now I know we can keep her. Ha. Swimming is a Meyn boy requirement!!

Enjoying Mama's very
expensive Diet Coke

The highlight of the day was that I got to paint little Lola's toenails to match mine!

Mama's dream come true...
Painting little toenails!

She loved the experience and helped me blow on them to speed up the drying process. Now she refuses to keep shoes and socks on because she wants to show everyone her twinkle toes!

Pretty little twinkle toes!

Tomorrow, I get to have a little grown-up girl time with Ann, a personal shopper. We have an afternoon appointment at the American Consulate to take our oath (of endless love and adoration for Lola) and to pick up her travel visa.

Check me out!!

After that, we are off to the airport to make the 13 hour flight to LAX. Wish us luck!! Tranquilizers for all!!
