We made it home Thursday afternoon, May 18th, and what an experience it was! It was an amazing moment to be reunited with Ashlyn at the airport and to introduce her to her little sister. I tried to be strong and not cry, but a flood of emotion overcame all of us when we saw each other for the first time.

My aunt Nancy and Carolyn were at the airport to welcome us home along with Mike's mother and her friend, Diane. As we drove home, I felt an unbelievable amount of gratitude....for the gift of our newest daughter, for finally making it home and having our family together again, and for all the luxuries we are afforded as citizens of the USA that I hope I don't take for granted again!
