A Korbat's Job

Dancing and soaring through darkest night
The korbat sings his song
Painting the sky with his starry hide
He's right where he belongs

The colors shimmer as stars unfurl
Across the midnight blue
Wiping away the brightness of day
He'll raise the stars for you

When daylight comes he'll take his rest
Hiding from the sun
His glow is weaker, or so it seems
Now that his work is done

But when the sun goes to sleep
He'll rise upon the wind
Soaring high through blackened sky
To paint the stars again.
