 GDI vs. NOD

Submitted By: Ojomym on 4-15-01

This tactic actually gives GDI a chance against NOD's Gorilla force.  Usually, GDI gets taken down quick by nods superior speed.  In GDI vs. NOD, you should be able to stop NOD's attempts at taking out your harvesters and war factories.  If you not familiar with GA Expansion, you should read that strategy as well to get an idea of where to move during this strategy.  Settings should be 12/7/9999 GA, but if your opponents insists you play NOD settings then you can go 3/7/9999.  Move your CY, according to GA Expansion, deploy and build...

...OK, when you get your barracks up pump off grenadiers like mad and spred them out, putting them in guard mode.  Before you get your weapons factory up, you may want to protect your power of CY with your infantry.  When you DO get your weapons factory up, move all your infantry to it and surround it, putting them all on guard mode.  Now, since you built mainly the same as NOD, u shouldn't be far behind.  Build Humm-Vees and expect a rush of either buggies or recon bikes.  when the rush comes let your infantry and Humm-Vess beat the crap out of them, and keep your weapons factory repaired.  Either "A", they didn't knock out your factory and your still golden, or "B" they did but they have no units left.  In scenario "A" just keep expanding as normal to the middle tiberium field.  If you want, you can also build and ORCA.  These can be used to pick off stray enemy units and harvesters.  In scenario "B" where they have nothing, or little left, bring everything you have over to their base and take out their critical structures (power, CY, Airstrip).  That should be game.  If your both still alive and have sizable forces then continue expanding and start putting up guard towers to protect your factory and to combat enemy infantry.  This reverses the situation to NOD's.  NOD used flamethrowers to take out your infantry while using turrets to take out your buildings/heavy units.  GDI need to use Guard Towers to take out enemy infantry and grenadiers to take out structures/heavy units.

Things should be looking up now, the enemy is stumped on how to take out your factory and if your skilled, you should be winning the expansion war (aided by your Humm-Vees.  You see, Humm-Vess are just awesome, they are way better than enemy buggies and pack about the same punch as a group of recon bikes.  Use Humm-Vess (aided by ORCA's if u built any) to take out enemy harvesters.

When things look safe, and you opponent is at his knees for money and units, put the mustard on by switching from Humm-Vees to Medium tanks.  If you really want to torture your opponent, you can build a repair bay and sell it as well.  This will give you access to mammoth tanks.  Don't build too many of these though because they are VERY expensive.  Concentrate mostly on Humm-Vess and tanks, then finish you enemy off when you see fit.  Good luck and have fun ;)
