He is an established musician in his own right and recorded an album in 1986 and again in 1998. JD's amazing talent and his thrilling on-stage presence often with bright red or purple hair, have become an integral part of the "Mavs".

Influences:Jaime is the son of legendary Jeff Hanna of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band fame. Matraca Berg, one of Nashville's most famous songwriters' and a recording artist in her own right, is married to Jeff, which makes her Jaime's step-mom. Jaime met Raul, they wrote some music together and when the band started touring for "Trampoline", Jaime joined them on the road.
