What is Pokémon you ask? Well pokémon is short for Pocket Monsters. Pokémon are like magical animals. They have special powers and you use them to fight other pokémon trainers. Some pokémon are cute, some are big and some are small. Pokémon is a Japanese anime, it’s also a gameboy game which came out before the show. There are always new pokémon stuff coming out. At the moment there is tons of pokémon merchandise to buy. There are 151 pokémon, and much more. The different types of pokémon include water, electric, grass, fire, psychic, ghost, normal, flying, rock, ground, dragon, ice, fighting, poison, and bug. In the show the main character is Ash who is trying to become a pokémon master. He started out with a Pikachu. His friends are Misty and Brock, and Ash's rival is Gary Oak the grandson of Prof. Oak. Gary is also trying to become a pokémon master. Then there is Team Rocket. (Jesse, James, and Meowth) They always are trying to steel Pikachu from Ash but they haven’t succeeded yet. In the game you are trying to catch all the pokémon, and beat the Elite 4 so you can become a pokémon master. Well that's what Pokémon is.
