Simon Kenton coach Jeff Stowers started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Anna Kelch, 5-8 So. Bella Ober, 5-11 Sr. Haylie Webb, 5-5 Jr. Brynli Pernell, and 5-7 Sr. Megan Gadzala. Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Erik Daniels countered with 5-7 Jr. Kaleigh Potts, 5-5 Jr. Eriyaune Daniels, 5-9 Fr. Alese Goree, 5-5 Jr. Layla Flynn, and 5-4 8th Grader Kyah Curtsinger.
Simon Kenton led 17-7 after the first quarter on their way to a 58-37 victory over Paul Laurence Dunbar. Simon Kenton shot 45% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line. The Lady Pioneers connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 12 Paul Laurence Dunbar turnovers. Paul Laurence Dunbar shot 29.5% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Bulldogs connected on five of five free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored three points off 10 Simon Kenton turnovers.
Brynli Pernell led Simon Kenton with 25 points including four three point baskets, and five of five free throws. Haylie Webb added 11 points including five of seven free throws, 13 rebounds, and two assists. 5-8 8th Grade Angela Kabeya recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and two rebounds. Bella Ober chipped in with five points, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Layla Flynn led Dunbar with 12 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and three assists. 5-4 So. Sydney Yaden added eight points including two three point baskets. Alese Goree recorded five points and four rebounds. Kaleigh Potts chipped in with five points and three rebounds.
