DeSales trailed 17-12 at halftime and despite mistakes including two blocked punts rallied to defeat Mercer County by a score of 39-23.  DeSales recorded 17 first downs and 346 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized five times for 44 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Mercer County recorded 15 first downs and 238 yards of total offense.  The Titans were penalized six times for 41 yards and had a pass intercepted.

James Johnson led DeSales High School’s ground game with 237 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries.  Antione Johnson added 49 yards on nine carries.  Jayden Scroggin ran for two touchdowns.  Jayden Scroggin completed four of nine passes for 57 yards with one interception.  Jason Higdon, Antione Johnson, and Demarcus Avery each caught a pass of 19, 17, and 14 yards respectively.  Antione Johnson returned four kickoffs for 100 yards including a long return of 43 yards and returned three punts for 22 yards with a long return of 13 yards.  Demetri Scott led the defense with two solo and one assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Demarcus Avery scored on a 45 yard interception return.

Malachi Yulee led Mercer County’s ground attack with 60 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.  Kaelin Drakeford added 39 yards on 11 carries.  Kaelin Drakeford completed 12 of 24 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Dillon Warren caught seven passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.  Brayden Dunn added three receptions for 40 yards.  Brayden Dunn returned three kickoffs for 38 yards.  Dillon Warren intercepted a pass he returned 30 yards.

Covington Catholic reached the running clock with seconds to go before halftime on their way to a 45-7 victory over Conner.  Covington Catholic recorded 22 first downs and 547 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized six times for 112 yards.  Conner recorded 11 first downs and 204 yards of total offense.  The Cougars were penalized four times for 64 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Daniel Felix led Covington Catholic’s ground attack with 134 yards on nine carries.  Michael Boydston carried the ball seven times for 17 yards and two touchdowns.  Caleb Jacob completed 13 of 21 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns.  Michael Mayer caught five passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns.  Ethan Reardon added four receptions for 119 yards and two touchdowns.  Luke Zimmerman returned a punt for 14 yards.  Owen Nally and David Brunson led the defense with five solo tackles each.  Michael Mayer added four solo tackles and intercepted a pass.  Carter Martin recorded three solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards.  Daniel Felix chipped in with two solo tackles and recovered a fumble.

Jared Hicks led Conner’s ground game with 33 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Jared Hicks completed 17 of 24 passes for 155 yards with one interception.  Colton Roy caught five passes for 61 yards.  Justin Daniels added four receptions for 39 yards.  Caleb Ervin also caught four passes for 35 yards.  Drew Cobble led the defense with seven solo tackles.  Parker Hitzfiel added five solo tackles.

Lexington Christian Academy continues to roll with a 38-13 victory over Danville tonight.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 23 first downs and 445 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized nine times for 90 yards and had one pass intercepted.  Danville recorded 10 first downs and 167 yards of total offense.  The Admirals were penalized three times for 35 yards and had three passes intercepted.

Jeffrey Selby led LCA’s ground game with 59 yards on 13 carries.  Xavier Brown carried the ball nine times for 52 yards and a touchdown.  Jayden Barnhardt completed 20 of 34 passes for 272 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.  Dearious Smith caught six passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns.  Will Vernon added nine receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns.  Xavier Brown chipped in with three receptions for 35 yards.  Andrew Long led the defense with six solo and five assisted tackles.  Mattie Lebryk added four solo and seven assisted tackles.  Neal Dickey recorded one solo and six assisted tackles.  Xavier Brown, Mason Moore, and Frankie Knight each intercepted a pass.

Caleb Burns led Danville’s ground game with 80 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.  Sage Dawson completed nine of 22 passes for 105 yards and one touchdown with three interceptions.  Corydon Crawford caught four passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.  Caleb Burns returned two kickoffs for 57 yards.  Darrian Bell led the defense with nine solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Xzavion Grey added three solo and eight assisted tackles.  Drysten Turner recorded five solo and three assisted tackles.

Scott County escaped tonight with a 46-45 overtime victory over Ballard tonight.  Scott County’s QB Cade McKee scored on a one yard run and Bronson Brown scored on a two point conversion with 13 seconds remaining in regulation to knot the score at 39-39 and force overtime.  Jaxson Saylor scored on an eight yard run and Jacob Bange kicked the extra point to give Scott County a 46-39 lead in overtime.  Ballard came back to score on a two yard run by Larry Cummings to pull within one point; 46-45.  Ballard failed on their attempt for a two point conversion and Scott County came away with the victory.  Scott County recorded 31 first downs and 512 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized nine times for 101 yards and lost a fumble.  Ballard recorded 18 first downs and 458 yards of total offense.  The Bruins were penalized 20 times for 160 yards and lost a fumble.

Bronson Brown led Scott County’s ground game with 174 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.  Phillip Garner carried the ball 32 times for 171 yards and two touchdowns.  Jaxson Saylor added 147 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Cade McKee carried the ball five times for 20 yards and two touchdowns.  Scott County was zero of three in the passing department tonight.  McCaleb Coffee returned two kickoffs for 41 yards.  Rylan Reed led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Sam Daniel added four solo and five assisted tackles.  Jacob Carretti recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.

Jayden Farmer led Ballard’s ground game with 373 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries.  Larry Cummings carried the ball five times for 15 yards and three touchdowns.  Larry Cummings completed four of 10 passes for 60 yards and one touchdown.  Rashad Bishop caught three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Chris Foster returned four kickoffs for 138 yards with a long return of 78 yards.  J. Thompson led the defense with eight solo and nine assisted tackles.  Joseph Chapman added eight solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Chris Foster recorded five solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss.  B. Mullaney recovered a fumble.

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 17-0 lead with 7:57 left in the first quarter on their way to a 49-7 victory over Anderson County.  The Knights came out and were very aggressive with their special team play which resulted in them recording consecutive onside kick recoveries.  Lexington Catholic recorded 18 first downs and 425 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized four times for 49 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Anderson County recorded 10 first downs and 163 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized four times for 20 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Ryan Nichols led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 45 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Beau Allen completed 17 of 27 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.  Josh Brownell completed his only pass for eight yards and a touchdown.  Jackson Corbett caught six passes for 137 yards and a touchdown.  Jack Gohmann added four receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown.  Jack Monday caught four passes for 30 yards and two touchdowns.  Blake Busson recorded three receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown.  JD Woodall returned four punts for 25 yards.  Kiwanga Mafuta led the defense with seven solo and one assisted tackles and inttercepted a pass he returned for 40 yards.  Jackson Klein added four solo and one assisted tackles.  Nick Carey, Ryan Mattingly, and Jackson Smith each recorded two solo tackles with one of their tackles resulting in losses of nine, eight, and seven yards respectively.

Zach Labhart led Anderson County’s ground game with 105 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Jagger Gillis carried the ball 15 times for 42 yards.  Jagger Gillis was zero of five passing with one interception.  Austin Beasley returned three kickoffs for 32 yards.  Chase Fink led the defense with five solo tackles.  Zach Labhart and Darien Dearinger each recorded three solo and one assisted tackles.  Jagger Gillis recorded two solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 12 yards.

What could go wrong did go wrong for the home standing Madison Central Indians as they lost to Bryan Station by a score of 23-7 on a chilly rainy night in Richmond.  The Indians were victimized by two lost fumbles, three interceptions, 82 yards of penalties and a quick Freshman from Bryan Station Damin Green who scored on a 96 yard kickoff return, added another touchdown on a 30 yard pass from Terick Mulder, and intercepted a pass.  To make matters worse they lost a top defensive back and kick returner Deashon Gowdey during the game with a leg injury.  Also, late in the game QB Canon Scenters was tackled after a nine yard run and was also taken from the field with an apparent leg/knee injury.  Bryan Station recorded 13 first downs and 215 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized seven times for 75 yards.  Madison Central recorded 10 first downs and 177 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized nine times for 82 yards, lost two fumbles, and had three passes intercepted.

Joseph Bond led Bryan Station’s ground game with 81 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.  Terik Mulder completed 16 of 28 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.  Dadrien Taylor caught seven passes for 63 yards.  Damin Green added three receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown.  Damin Green returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown.  Bryson Fields led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles.  Giovanni Watson added five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss and recovered a fumble.  George Taul recorded two solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Deven Taul added three solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted two passes he returned for a total of 20 yards.  Damin Green also intercepted a pass.

Adrien Parks led Madison Central’s ground game with 61 yards on 12 carries.  Canon Scenters completed four of 11 passes for 55 yards with three interceptions.  Ashton Hulberg caught three passes for 46 yards.  Patrick Moren punted three times for a 47.0 average with a long punt of 65 yards with two of his punts inside the 20 yard line.  Deashon Gowdey returned three kickoffs for 66 yards with a long return of 30 yards.  Trey Parks led the defense with two solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Sawyer Cruse added four solo and one assisted tackles.  Edgren Sweat recorded one solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Kyran Jackson added two solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards.

Tates Creek rolled up 479 yards of total offense in a 32-0 shutout victory over Henry Clay.  Tates Creek recorded 21 first downs and 479 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized 10 times for 93 yards, lost two fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.  Henry Clay recorded six first downs and 74 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized six times for 34 yards, lost four fumbles and had two passes intercepted.

Matthew Underwood led Tates Creek’s ground game with 79 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Cion Townsend carried the ball four times for 43 yards and a touchdown.  Marcus Bosley added 29 yards on three carries and Aliyon Blevins recorded 27 yards on four carries.  Luke Duby completed 17 of 31 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Miles Thomas caught five passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns.  Cion Townsend added 82 yards and a touchdown on three receptions.  Marcus Bosley caught three passes for 36 yards.  TrePOEN Broadus chipped in with two receptions for 42 yards.  JT Acosta led the defense with four solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards and intercepted a pass he returned for 18 yards.  Elliot Bryant added four solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Kobe Middleton chipped in with two solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Billy Norman and Bonnell Herron each recovered a fumble.

Chris Dabney led Henry Clay’s ground game with 48 yards on five carries.  William Webb carried the ball six times for 21 yards.  Blake VanHorn completed three of 11 passes for five yards.  Christian Barrentine was zero for three with two passes intercepted.  Jakobi Godfrey caught one pass for 11 yards.  William Webb led the defense with four solo and seven assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Trayce Clay added six solo and two assisted tackles.  Chris Dabney recorded four solo and five assisted tackles.  Jordan Kimball added three solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 14 yards.

Paul Laurence Dunbar raced out to a 21-0 first quarter lead on their way to a 35-20 victory over Lafayette.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded 16 first downs and 386 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized nine times for 77 yards and lost two fumbles.  Lafayette recorded 13 first downs and 198 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized nine times for 63 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Jamarcus Robinson led Dunbar’s ground game with 85 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Mitchell Joseph carried the ball 20 times for 83 yards and a touchdown.  Jacob Greene added 52 yards on 18 carries.  Josiah Brown and Jake Smith each recorded a touchdown run of one yard.  Jake Smith completed five of 10 passes for 138 yards and one touchdown.  Jamarcus Robinson caught four passes for 130 yards and a touchdown.  Jual Jones led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles.  John Law added four solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 15 yards.  Mario Paul recorded three solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 13 yards.  Connor Smith added two solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  Kamarion Robinson recovered a fumble.

Owen Hellard led Lafayette’s ground game with 50 yards on 10 carries.  Oumar Toure carried the ball four times for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Drake Nelson added 19 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  George Anderson added a touchdown on a one yard run.  Tanner Pace completed seven of 15 passes for 53 yards with two interceptions.  Drake Nelson completed two of nine passes for 26 yards.  JC Shegog caught three passes for seven yards.  Austin Anderson added two receptions for 26 yards.  Noah Curtsinger caught two passes for 18 yards.  Owen Hellard added one reception for 23 yards.  JC Shegog returned two kickoffs for 72 yards with a long return of 47 yards.  JT Seltsam led the defense with seven solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards and recovered a fumble.  Adam Bishop added seven solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss.  Jay Brank recorded five solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  Carson Cooper added four solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.

Eastern Kentucky University led 34-10 with 4:45 left in the third quarter but had to withstand a furious rally by Murray State to earn a 34-27 victory.  Eastern Kentucky University recorded 15 first downs and 382 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 114 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Murray State recorded 18 first downs and 425 yards of total offense.  They were penalized nine times for 57 yard and had three passes intercepted.

Daryl McCleskey led Eastern Kentucky’s ground game with 73 yards on 22 carries.  Alonzo Booth carried the ball 11 times for 42 yards and two touchdowns.  Parker McKinney completed 16 of 30 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Daryl McCleskey caught five passes for 36 yards.  Keyion Dixon added four receptions for 83 yards.  Jerome Gross caught three passes for 43 yards and a touchdown.  Alex Cabrera added two receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown.  Quentin Pringle returned one kickoff for 27 yards.  Josh Hayes led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Steven Crowder added three solo and four assisted tackles.  Corey Glass recorded three solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  Frank Sumpter chipped in with four solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss and intercepted a pass.  Daulson Fitzpatrick intercepted a pass he returned 10 yards.  Aaron Patrick recorded two solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss and intercepted a pass he returned 39 yards.

Jared McCray led Murray State’s ground game with 10 yards on three carries.  Preston Rice completed 39 of 58 passes for 373 yards and two touchdowns.  L. Brooks caught 12 passes for 154 yards.  DeQuan Dallas added four receptions for 42 yards.  Jam Sappington caught four passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.  Ty Terrell caught three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown.  DaQuon Green caught two passes for 37 yards.  Jacob Bell added two receptions for 34 yards.  DeQuan Dallas returned two kickoffs for 47 yards with a long return for 37 yards.  A. Koclanakis led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles.  Scotty Humpich added six solo and two assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  Kendrick Catis recorded four solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 56 yards for a touchdown.
