Christmas Memories and Traditions
My favorite Christmas tradition is when we open presents at my house in the morning. Then we go to my grandparents in Bracken County. After that we go to my aunt and uncles in Bracken County. Around 3:00 P.M. I will go to my other grandparents in Danville. I will go to my uncles around 8:00 P.M in Madison, Indiana. Then back to my house then we eat some turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, and macaroni, which is around 10:00 P.M. That is my family tradition.
My favorite Christmas was in 2000.I had a lot of fun when I opened all my presents and the last one was my most favorites it was a CD player with a five-disc changer with a remote. My grandma bought it for being good in school for two months she lives in Bracken County. I just hope next year is a whole lot better.

My favorite Christmas tradition would have to be going to my grandmas and opening presents at six at night because that is when we open the presents from each other and those are the best. When we got done eating our big Christmas dinner we all pile into the car and go out and look at all of the lights for about a half an hour. When they are gone, Santa (mom and dad) put presents under the tree with all of the presents saying from Santa.

Christmas at my house is a joyous occasion. It all starts on Christmas Eve when we all go to my Aunt Becky’s to exchange gifts with other family members with extended relations. We all exchange presents, then either joke around or eat snacks. On Christmas day we all wake up bright and early to a Christmas breakfast. Soon after breakfast we all open gifts. We all go into the living room and begin tearing into the wrapping paper of our gifts. Soon afterward, Amanda and I clean up the wrapping paper. After that we go to my Grandma Loretta’s house to exchange gifts with her. We usually stay ten or five minutes because we are pressed for time. We have to go to my Uncle Neal’s for dinner! After the dinner, we all go home and go to sleep.
Every year around Christmas at my house we have one major tradition to follow. We all set up the tree during the dark. That way, when it lights up the family’s path is brightened.

My favorite Christmas memory is when I got my Mongoose Outer Limits bicycle. It was in 1999. My whole family gathered at my grandpa and grandma’s house. Every one started opening their presents. When we finished opening presents my grandpa rolled my bicycle out for me to see. I was so happy I ran over to him and gave him a hug and jumped on my bicycle and started riding through the house.
My family has a tradition we follow every single year. The parents write their name on a piece of paper along with three items they would like to receive for a gift. When they are finished they place the piece of paper in a hat or bag. Each person picks a name and are responsible for buying one item on the list and not telling anyone who they have.

My favorite Christmas memory is in 1999 because my grandmother and my uncle were alive not that you really care but that is one of the reasons that the year of 1999 was the best Christmas for me. That was the best for me. That was probably everyone else’s in my family’s best Christmas too. That was the last year that our Christmas tradition lasted because we had it at my grandmother’s house and that was our family tradition. We went always went to my grandmothers house ate and then the children played games and the adults normally watched television.
I loved going to my grandmother’s house on Christmas and spending time with my family. But one other tradition that my family does is similar to Secret Santa, we pick peoples names out of a hat and we gotten them a special present. But the present should be just for that person. Actually it is the exact thing as Secret Santa. For instance I could have that persons name on it because that would be just for them unless someone in the family had the same name.
But what the best part about Christmas to me is the anxiousness of opening the presents and to see what my family members got for me. Also see what other people in my family got and to see their faces when they open the present that what I got them and to see if they like them.
But this year we are making a different tradition not the whole family but the kids made this up and the adults aren’t going to know about this because we are going to do this every year and we are going to pull out a parents name and by them a special present so we can do something special to show the parents how much we appreciate them.
And I hope this year is going to be better than the year 1999!!!!

My favorite Christmas is last years because on Christmas Eve the whole family (in the house) went down stairs at 12:00 at midnight and opened up all the presents. After that we got a board game out and we played that for about an hour, then we got out another game out and then we did the same thing as the last one. Later on in the morning we went up to my grandmother’s house and then we got more presents, soon we left my grandmas and went to go eat at a restaurant.
Last year we made the tradition where we go down stairs on Christmas Eve to open up all our presents. We also have another tradition where we go to my grandmother’s house and we choose names out of a hat. The names are in separate hats we, have to get the person their presents, we choose a name then we go out to find their gift. We choose them on Thanksgiving so we have until Christmas to find them their gifts.

My favorite Christmas memory is when I got to go to Metamora. Metamora is an old fashion place. At Christmas time they put lights up on all the shops. Sometimes they have carriage rides and you get to cover up with the blankets they give you on the carriage ride.
When you get cold you can buy some hot chocolate. It’s really pretty there when it snows. We got to stay in a nice hotel that had antique beds and games in the room. The hotel had all you can eat buffet there. It was one of those old fashioned hotels.
One of our family traditions is we always go to are grandma’s house for Christmas Eve. For Christmas day we get up early in the morning and open our presents. We always go in order from oldest to youngest when we open our Christmas presents for another holiday tradition. On Christmas day we always go to my cousins house and open more presents a play games and just have fun.

Christmas Eve my whole family exchange gifts and then we have a family dinner. On Christmas Day, my brother, Austin and I open our gifts, and then we have a big breakfast. After breakfast Austin and I clean up the mess that we made. Later on that day, the whole family besides my cousin Nik and his family get together at my grandma’s and have a big dinner. Afterwards we all go home and go to bed.
My Favorite Christmas Memory is when my brother came home from the hospital four years ago. I didn’t think that Austin was going to come home on December 16,1996 because he was sick. My mom told me that Austin wasn’t coming home but my dad had him in his arms in the backyard. When my dad came in with Austin his arms. I started to cry because he was finally home for good.

What I do for a family tradition, I go to my great Grandma’s on my mom’s side. Everybody on my mom’s side gathers in my Grandmas small little apartment on Christmas Eve, my whole mom’s side has the same tradition. This year it will not be the same because my mom’s sister will not be there and she has four of my cousins and they are the ones I hang out with. We leave my grandmas around eleven or twelve o’clock at night. When we leave my grandmas to go to each of my aunt’s and uncles to see my cousins open their presents and then we open our presents they got us. If they don’t get us any thing, I really don’t care but I do care if they do not love me. The next day on Christmas, my aunts and uncles come to eat a nice ham dinner and when I’m not doing that I’m messing with my toys or clothes or any thing that I got.
My favorite Christmas memory was last year. I got a lot for Christmas. I got a brand new bike for Christmas. I got a lot of clothes too. I got a big toolbox with some tools. The best thing of all my whole family was there for my gift opening. This is my favorite Christmas because I just had more fun then any other year.

My favorite Christmas memory is when I was six years old. My family was getting ready to sit on the floor as we did every year, we were going to start giving out gifts but that year there were no gifts under the tree. We thought they were gone but they were not. My grandfather was dressed up like Santa and he was going to give us our gifts. At the time I didn’t know that it was him, so we called him Santa. We loved it so much because that was the only year that we did that and we got so many pictures after Christmas because of that. I still like to look at the pictures because they give such a good memory of all my family together. And that was the only Christmas that I liked very much but I do like Christmas.
My family tradition is getting up and the first thing we do is look under the tree. After we get up my sisters and I go get every one else up. Then my uncle reads the names off the gifts and gives them to the person that it goes to. Then after we open all the gifts we clean up the mess. Sometimes we go back to bed or we check out our new stuff. And that’s just about all we do for Christmas.

My family every year celebrates Christmas by exchanging presents and partying, I get most of my presents from my grandma; I don't even play with them. It is a lot of fun, especially when we open presents. We usually party all night, and watch TV.
My memory was last year, I went to bed real late, because I was thinking about Christmas, I got so excited, maybe too much, because when I woke up I wasn't excited. I just didn't get what I wanted.
