CHILDHOOD: She spent most of her childhood living on Miramar Naval Air Base, north of San Diego. Dana Scully spent the first year of her undergraduate school at the University of California, Berkeley, near the Alameda Naval Air Station, where her father was stationed. At Berkeley, Dana, was interested in political activism, especially with anti-nuclear protest group, though her involvement did not go further than reading leaflets and engaging in occasional spirited discussion with her father. After one year there, Dana transferred to the University of Maryland.
