My Knight

she questions she doubts
how she wishes to believe it is he
her heart quivers at his voice
the fingers of her soul reaching out
gingerly touching
carefully feeling
but there is so much this knight must know of her
before he can truly love her
and she of him before she can love him
her heart is saying grab hold don't let go
her mind is crying slow go slow
we must have time
please lady in the moon look down on us and give us your grace
man in the moon smile on us and lend us your rays of hope
i feel his fingers touching mine
timid yet strong
built of courage yet trembling
with fear
with anticipation
with hope
a dream in the heart
a song sung in the spirit
i close my eyes
breathing deeply
smells of the earth surrounding me
sounds of the world around me
some of pain some pain is mine
some of joy some joy is mine
some of hope some hope is mine
some of love is some love mine
