To Dare - a Tetramorphic Command - ESDC

To Dare -
by Lord Rassilon

Once upon a time long ago, the Chinese Emperor called all of his wise men together. He wondered if there could be a statement or phrase that could be made to apply to every situation. After much debate the wise men came up with " And this too shall pass", and so far this statement has remained true.

All things 'pass' because everything must ultimately change. The serpent was so revered by the Ancients because it shed its skin, making it the very symbol of change. Change has been called the 'only constant' to quote an old cliché. Considering that Change is inevitable, then the only healthy direction is to flow with Change.

Unfortunately, Change is the one thing man tends to fight. The main resistance to Change comes from fear caused by doubt and uncertainty. The average person tends to latch on to philosophies because they seem very certain, and thus don't require Change.

Political organizations tend to promote agendas devoted to their membership not needing to compromise. The religious concepts of Heaven, Hell, Nirvana, and reincarnation are geared towards the individual avoiding the cycle of change. In truth the fear of Change stems from a lack of desire by the Lower Self (base, selfish personality traits) to change.

Consider the woman who spends all her time reading romance novels, dreaming about "Mr. Right", but yet never empowers herself to find him. Consider the person who studies literature but never writes the great novel the talk about. Finally, consider the person who spends their entire life as a wallflower, and wonders why they are always alone.

However, if one can overcome that fear then one can embrace the endless possibilities, and create a strong probability or joyous certainty. Courage, and creativity are the requirements of this command
