I'm so tired!

I'm just wiped out. I want to go home and take a nap and it's only 9 a.m. on a Tuesday. I think it's because I didn't get any downtime this weekend or yesterday. In my current tired state I can't seem to clear my head of the most mundane of thoughts. Is the checkbook balanced? How much is it going to cost to finish up my house? Can I put up drywall this weekend? Should I put a vanity in my bedroom? What about the ugly carpet in there? Should I rip it up? How much will it cost to replace? Will I be able to get anyone out to help this weekend? Did I spend too much on the new mattresses? How much do eavestroughs cost? What am I going to do about dry rot? Are the ants in the yard going to try to come in the house? Did the lights come on and off as I programmed them to? How am I going to be there in time for the deliverymen to show up and not miss too much work? When can I get in to the water softener guy's office to get it hooked up?

Bah. I won't bore you anymore, you get the picture. I can't seem to get out of that loop. It's not productive thought, it's needlessly worrying and never coming to any reasonable conclusions. I just don't have the information available to me to make some of the choices, and am not going to get it until this weekend.

Roomie was sweet and rode along with me for a lot of yesterday's driving, just to keep me company. I thought it was very kind of him, considering how much he hates to ride around in the car. He's pretty enthusiastic about an interview he had yesterday. Here's hoping he gets an offer. He is very underutilized in his current position, and I can't blame him for wanting to go elsewhere.

I feel a need for organized thought. Here's a new updated list of stuff reflecting the changes of last weekend.

Project 1. Work on my house. There are some things that need to be done before I can possibly move into my new house.

Priority 1: Drywall and paint my bedroom, and fix its wiring. Paint Kirstin's room, the stairwell, and the downstairs molding.
Priority 2: Install the new window panes my stepdad is picking up for me.
Priority 3: I have to put some panelling in the closets.
Priority 4: Curtains. This was an easy one and it's DONE! Mark it off the list.
Priorty 5: Furnace. This has gotten pushed a little further back, since I am waiting on several people's paying me back before I have liquid cash enough to do it.

Project 2: Packing is on hold indefinitely. There's no sense doing it now.

Project 3: Buying stuff for the house. Well, I now have toilet paper and paper towels. I didn't have to buy some stuff because my stepdad loaned it to me, which was nice. I still have to buy drywall and more primer and some electrical supplies, the functions of which I am not aware.

Project 4: Kirstin's birthday. I still haven't shopped and don't know when I'm going to get time.

Project 5: Regular maintenance of the property. This is an ongoing project, but for now it has been forestalled, since my stepdad was so kind as to mow it this weekend.

Project 6: Midsummer Night's Dream. Lots of lines that I still havent' learned 6 nights a week. And we're looking for a new Lysander.

Project 7: The Red Carnation. YEAH! It's over! Chalk this one off the list.

Project 8: Regular stuff. Well, all my bills are paid until August or so. Roomie has been kind enough to do some of my laundry, so I'm not walking around naked. As for dishes, though, I actually have to set foot in my apartment long enough to do that. I don't foresee that anytime soon.

Project 9: Cosmetic changes. HAH! All of my cosmetic changes have turned into major tasks that must be complete before move-in, because of unforeseen problems. Like when I tried to pull the ugly wallpaper in my bedroom down, the wall came down with it. And when I tried to put in a brighter kitchen light I found out that there's something screwy with the wiring. When I tried to put in my porch light I found out that the wiring is too close to the storm door, so that the door will hit the light fixture everytime it's opened. So there AREN'T any cosmetic changes left. This all goes under project 1 now.

So there. I eliminated a few. Can you hear me cackling maniacally across the internet? My Mom told me there'd be days like this. I hope she doesn't gloat.
