Mom
My mom has always been "mom" to me. Sometimes my sisters have called her "mommy" and stuff, but she's my mom. It's straightforward. My mom teaches elementary school music, and works very hard at it, even though it can be a thankless task. She cares a lot about music education, and tries to make sure that all the kids in her school can read music before they go to middle school. I am very proud of her, although sometimes she reminds me of Don Quixote and the Windmill.
My mom and I are a lot alike. Neither one is well-grounded in reality, and neither has a sense of time.
My mom loves me a lot, and I love her back. I'd like to be closer to her, and in the past couple of years have been slowly working on that.
Mom spends a lot of time with Kirstin, which I think is great.
The best thing my mom ever did for me was to give me music. I learned to love it, write it, understand it, and can think in music better than I can in words. It's the beautiful language in which the spirit speaks. My mom taught me that.
