Anodyne was formed in 1995 and subsequently caused the break up of Miasma. The music was much slower than the buzz spectors' and was often depressing. Near the end of Anodyne's existence in 1996 they were beginning to develop a much more funky sound. They released Caligula's Horse, a five song cassette, and played numerous shows in their limited existence. The untimely break up of anodyne was the reason the buzz spectors were formed.
