4V/Kemper Civil War Database |

The 4V (Veitch, Veatch, Veach, Veech) and Kemper Confederate Army Database contains approximately two-hundred descendants of James Veitch, the Sheriffe, and Johann Kemper. The men represented twelve of the thirteen states in the Confederacy. The largest number were concentrated in Virginia, as the numbers reveal below. This is no real suprise, especially since Johann Kemper settled in Germantown, Virgina, and James Veitch settled nearby in Calvert County, Maryland. The numbers break-down as follows: Alabama= 11 Of the approximate number of men, 121 were Kempers, and the remaining 79 were members of the 4Vs. I have excluded the surnames from the statistical numbers. The men are arranged by the state in which they served below. In time, I will add further information concerning each man. If anyone has any information, feel free to contact me and I will add it.
