Raspberry Punch
~
This punch recipe was first used at a reception in 1969
given by our Family Service Volunteers to welcome the
Base Commander's wife of Dover AFB, Delaware
~
I used it again for two of my sons' wedding receptions
in 1996 and 1997
~
Six 6-oz. cans frozen Hawaiian Punch
Six 6-oz. cans water
(if frozen cannot be found, use the equivalent in canned or bottled punch, total of 72 oz. punch)
Three 6-oz. cans frozen lemonade concentrate
4 quarts 7-up
Frozen raspberries
Raspberry sherbet

Mix Hawaiian Punch, water and lemonade together, keeping very cold until time to use.  Then pour into punch bowl.  Pour 7-up in mixture right before serving.
~
Top punch with frozen raspberries and raspberry sherbet.
~
Make plenty cause they'll keep coming back for more!!

Vanilla Cola
~
To make your own version of Vanilla Coke, it's as simple as adding vanilla syrup, to taste, to Coca-Cola.  Serve over crushed ice and garnish with a cherry.
~
You may buy vanilla syrup at a gourmet coffee shop or in some supermarkets in the coffee section; or you may make your own.

~

Homemade Vanilla Syrup

Combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon salt in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
~
Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
~
Continue boiling until mixture becomes thick and syrupy, about 3-5 minutes.
~
Remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon vanilla extract or one vanilla bean.
~
Cool to room temperature and refrigerate.
