~ This punch recipe was first used at a reception in 1969 given by our Family Service Volunteers to welcome the Base Commander's wife of Dover AFB, Delaware ~ I used it again for two of my sons' wedding receptions in 1996 and 1997 ~ Six 6-oz. cans frozen Hawaiian Punch Six 6-oz. cans water (if frozen cannot be found, use the equivalent in canned or bottled punch, total of 72 oz. punch) Three 6-oz. cans frozen lemonade concentrate 4 quarts 7-up Frozen raspberries Raspberry sherbet ~ Mix Hawaiian Punch, water and lemonade together, keeping very cold until time to use. Then pour into punch bowl. Pour 7-up in mixture right before serving. ~ Top punch with frozen raspberries and raspberry sherbet. ~ Make plenty cause they'll keep coming back for more!! * Return to Beverage Menu * White Grape Spritzers ~ I've served this for Christmas Brunch and it's especially good with the Ham Phyllo Roll with Cranberry Sauce ~ 1 Recipe Fruit Ice Cubes (see recipe below) ~ 2 cups unsweetened white chilled grape juice 2 cups lemon-lime carbonated beverage, chilled ~ -Prepare Fruit Ice Cubes -In each of 4 wine glasses, combine 1/2 cup of grape juice and 1/2 cup carbonated beverage -Add Fruit Ice Cubes ~ Fruit Ice Cubes ~ Place white, seedless grapes, strawberries, star fruit or peeled kiwi fruit slices in ice cube trays. Add water. Freeze. ~ Serves 4 * Return to Beverage Menu * Hot Holiday Punch ~ (Prepare in a large coffee urn for a large gathering) ~ 9 cups unsweetened pineapple juice 9 cups cranberry juice 4 and 1/2 cups water 1 cup light brown sugar 4 and 1/2 teaspoons whole cloves 4 sticks cinnamon ~ In large-capacity coffee urn, place liquid ingredients. Replace stem and basket; in basket, place brown sugar, cloves and cinnamon; replace top. Percolate until done. ~ (Can half the recipe if desired or refrigerate leftovers and reheat as needed) * Return to Beverage Menu * Vanilla Cola ~ To make your own version of Vanilla Coke, it's as simple as adding vanilla syrup, to taste, to Coca-Cola. Serve over crushed ice and garnish with a cherry. ~ You may buy vanilla syrup at a gourmet coffee shop or in some supermarkets in the coffee section; or you may make your own. ~ Homemade Vanilla Syrup Combine
1 cup water and 1 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon salt in a saucepan over medium-high
heat.
