FARAMIR AND EOWYN'S STORY

Faramir and Eowyn were both victims and casualties in the War of the Ring; Faramir was wounded in battling in Osgiliath under orders of his father, the Steward of Gondor, and Eowyn was gravely wounded after fighting and defeating the Witch King out in the Pelennor Fields. Both of them were taken to the House of Healing in Minas Tirith, where both of them were tended by Aragorn and placed under the care of the Warden.
Eowyn was restless of her situation, seeking for battle and went to Faramir asking to be released of the House of Healing care. However, Faramir could not since he too was bound under the Warden and therefore both of them remained in the House of Healing while Aragorn and the troops of Free Men staged their last battle before the gates of Mordor. They spent days together, sometimes talking, sometimes just sitting quietly. Eowyn was still bound for her grief of her love for Aragorn and seeked death in battle. Faramir, however, was falling in love with the White Lady of Rohan and they stood by the wall when the Ring was unmade and the power of Sauron was broken.
Even then, they (especially Eowyn---Faramir was allowed to prepare arrangements for the return of the King) were not released completely out of the care of the Warden. Even then, Eowyn was still caught up between her love for Aragorn and for Faramir. At last, Faramir professed his love for Eowyn and Eowyn felt a sense of change within her. After the coronation and Faramir's posting to Ithilien, Faramir asked permission from Eowyn's brother, King Eomer, for her hand in marriage. They were married in Edoras before settling in Ithilien. They had children (unnamed) and although Eowyn's death is unknown, Faramir died at the age of 120.
