ARAGORN'S BIOGRAPHY
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is storng does not wither
Deep roots are not reached by the frost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king
- FOTR, Strider
Aragorn was born to Arathorn II and Gilraen in TA 2931 in Eriador (formerly known as Arnor), Middle Earth. He is descended from the House of Isildur, the line of Kings said to be long lost and forgotten. At a young age of 3, his father Arathron died. As a result, Gilraen fled with young Aragorn to Imladris and to dwell in the House of Elrond. Aragorn grew up, learning the Elven language and lore, but never forgotten his roots. While there, Aragorn also met Arwen Undomiel, Elrond's daughter, and fell in love with her. Her father told him that he could not be Aragorn until he becomes who he was born to be. Throughout the years, they have met numerous times. At the same time, his mother died, which also started Aragorn's travels.
Aragorn befriended Gandalf the Gray throughout his travels and long ago under the alias Thorongil and fought alongside Thengel in Rohan. After aiding Thengel, he went to Minas Tirith, to aide Steward Ecthelion II and was loved by all men (save for Denethor, who had his suspicions of Aragorn at the time). When Gandalf the Gray failed to appear in the Prancing Pony in Bree in 3018, Aragorn stepped in to accompany the hobbits to Imladris for safety. He was chosen as a representative of Men with Boromir of Gondor to be a member of the Fellowship sent to accompany Frodo to destroy the Ring. When Gandalf fell in Moria, Aragorn assumed command of Fellowship and led them to Lothlorien for safety once more.
When the Fellowship broke in Amon Hen, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli set out tracking down the hobbits Pippin & Merry, who were taken captive by the Uruk-Hai of Isengard. There they met with Eomer, Third Marshall of the Mark, before meeting up with Gandalf, newly transformed to White, in Fangorn Forest. Reunited with an old friend and instilled with a new mission, they set out to Edoras, capital of Rohan to cure the possessed Theoden, King of Rohan, and to fight against the forces of Isengard in Helm's Deep. In Edoras, Aragorn met with Eowyn, Eomer's sister and she fell in love with him. They met up with Pippin & Merry in the overthrown Isengard before splitting up again to face Sauron's armies in the East. To take up his full responsibility as king, he first revealed himself to Sauron through the palantir before taking the Paths of Dead with Legolas and Gimli to claim the oath of the King of Dead and control the army to Minas Tirith, which was being beseiged. There he healed the dying Faramir and the injured Eowyn & Merry. After a final debate, he sets out with a host of men from Rohan, Gondor, Dunedain Rangers, Dol Amroth and his fellow companions towards the Black Gates for a final confrontation with Sauron.
After the destruction of the Ring, Aragorn was proclaimed King of the West and on Midsummer's Day, wedded Arwen Undomiel. He founded his own house, the House of Telcontar ("House of Strider"). He rebuilt Gondor and also setted rules such as keeping the Shire protected and unspoiled from the rest of Middle Earth and spent a good number of years fighting back against the remainder of Sauron's armies. He lived to the age of 210 before laying down and dying in the House of Kings. He is succeeded by his eldest and only son, Eldarion and also has many daughters.
