EOMER'S BIOGRAPHY
Eomer is the firstborn son of Eomund and Theodwyn, the sister of King Theoden of Rohan, in TA 2991. He has a younger sister, Eowyn, born just 4 years after him. When they were young, their father was slain by orcs by Emyn Muil. Their mother died shortly after in grief and Eomer & Eowyn were sent to live with their uncle, King Theoden, in Edoras.
When Eomer was 26, he was made the Third Marshall of the Riddermark and became in charge of the Riders from the Eastfold, like his father. On TA February 25, 3019, on the Battle of the Fords of Isen, his cousin Theodred was slain, leaving Eomer the heir to the throne of Rohan. Before and around this time, King Theoden was possessed by Saruman and manipulated by Grima Wormtongue. On the plains of Rohan, Eomer first meets Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli. He participated in the Battle of the Hornburg and the Second Battle at the Fords of Isen. He rode with King Theoden to Minas Tirith, but when Theoden fell in the Battle at Pelennor Fields, Eomer was granted kingship and became the King of Rohan. He rode with Aragorn to the Black Gates.
Eomer was 28 when he became the King of Rohan. He maintained an excellent relationship with Gondor and ruled for over 65 years. He restored his kingdom and was given the name Eadig, "Blessed". He married Lothiriel of Dol Amroth and succeeded by his son Elfwine.
