What is HIV? HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, but what does it do and how can you be infected? Well, Magic Johnson was HIV positive and he was led with an incurable AIDS virus. A fatal disease caused by a rapidly mutating retrovirus that attacks the immune system and leaves the victim vulnerable to infections, malignancies, and neurological disorders (http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/A/AI1D1S1.asp). AIDS can be transmitted in such ways as: sexual intercourse, blood transmission(such as sharing needles), and inheriting the virus at birth. AIDS cannot be cured, however be delayed to an extent.
