Magic Johnson was the first well-known athlete who has got the AIDS virus. He changed the image of millions since his announcement of HIV. From then on, people took the AIDS virus more seriously more tragic measure which would probably not of been taken if not for Magic Johnson. With the addition of his personal heterosexual lifestyle people were bashed to find out that he was HIV positive. At this time, people thought that only homosexuals could receive the AIDS virus and this bold statement, from a man most people admired, influenced the course of history.
