After watching Cradle 2 the
Grave at the cinemas yesterday, I could only describe the movie in 4 words,
Cradle was 'Cool to the Max'. Don't worry about the plot, because the acting
was so cool and so fast paced and filled with action and stunts, enough the
make the viewers (especially) teenagers saying 'wow'. The fights were both
original and creative by HK legend action director - Corey Yuen (Kiss of the
Dragon) lifts the movie at a Jet-like pace and cool humor. Jet Li certainly
improves a lot from his The One performance and here is very stoic, but he has
this presence of unbeatable badass good guy that no one has seen since Bruce
Lee. Li is probably the coolest crossover since Lee. Jackie Chan has the humor
and creative charm and stunts. Chow Yun Fat has the presence of a hitman, but
it is Jet that really shines in this movie. DMX and his music was great if not
brilliant and his style of fighting is very believable - street US style. Tom
Arnold and Anderson did a terrific performances as some much needed comedy
relief. In a way, I personally think that Tom Arnold and Jet actually an even
better pairing than DMX and Li. The final fight may have been ridicule, but it
was cool nonetheless. Kelly Hu and
Gabriel Union are hot and also prove to be quite a badass fighter. Overall,
Cradle 2 the Grave is an immensely fun movie ride, with cool stunts, hot babes
all combine to give a 'cool' feel to the viewers.
