RON YOUNG

LITTLE CAESAR

Ron Young is best known for his sexy bluesy voice and being the founder of Little Caesar. Little Caesar has such an incredibly unique sound. If you haven't heard them then you need to! You can do so in the box above this paragraph. I had the pleasure of meeting the guys when they first started touring. Ron was always my favorite in the band! I recently had the pleasure of interviewing him.

1. How did you come up with the name of your band?

The band was named after the 30's gangster film of the same name.

2. Who are some of your favorite musicians?

I love all singers that have soul....Paul Rodgers, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Adele, Steve Marriot....Brian Tichy is an amazing musician....killer guitar player and an amazing drummer

3. What's your guilty musical pleasure?

I love Bluegrass. The playing is amazing and the honesty and soul is naked and in your face.

4. Who did you idolize as a child?

When I was a kid, Michael Jackson was a kid. I loved his singing in the Jackson 5....then he became a freak.

5. Stranded on a deserted island, what 3 cds would you have with you?

Who Quadrophenia, Bad Co- Bad Co, and Ray Charles greatest hits.

6. The difference between today's music and the music of the 80's?

They both suck!....wait...that's a similarity lol.....at least today there are more artists that are relying less on Production and more on performance and personality.

7. Favorite place to perform?

Wherever someone will listen.....there's a great seedy club in Berlin called Wild at Heart...it's like CBGB's in the late 70's.

8. What makes a good song?

Strong chord changes, a great melody and a universal lyric.

9. What are your hobbies?

Building custom cars and bikes, eating and getting massages.

10. Favorite food to eat on the road?

 A good plate of Pasta.

11. The first concert you ever went to?

I was lucky when I was a kid...I got to see Zeppelin at Madison Square Garden when they filmed the Song Remains the Same.

12. Who's the best person you've met on the road?

Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was an INCREDIBLE player and performer and one of the nicest, most generous men you could ever meet.

13. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you want to meet and why?

Robert Johnson.....I would want to know what possessed him to play and sing the way he did.

14. Any current projects?

I am singing with a KILLER group of musicians in a Soul/R&B cover band named Blue Eyed Devils....total guilty pleasure.
