Eerie Von is best known for being one of the founders of Samhain, which eventually turned into Danzig. He's also known for being one of the great punk bassists! Besides being a musician, he's a very talented photographer and artist. I recently had the pleasure of interviewing him! Please check out his site and pick up something!

1. What was your favorite thing to dress up as for Halloween in childhood?

I used to do the full on fake hair, or beards with the Spirit Gum, took forever to get on and off. Werewolf, or pirate

2. What is your favorite horror movie past and present?

I like that Cave movie, the Descent, and "The Black Cat" is a favorite old one.

3. Who are your favorite horror movie actors/actresses?

Favorite actors, are Lon Chaney Sr. and Karloff. Karen Black is a favorite actress.

4. Is there any particular monster that fascinates you?

I'm a Frankenstein guy.

5.How did you get the nickname "Eerie"?

Eerie was a horror mag. along with Creepy, and Famous Monsters back in the old days. It was just a "Punk Rock" name, everyone had one.

6. Who did you idolize as a child?

Elvis, and Baseball player Tom Seaver.

7. What is the inspiration for your artwork?

I've been painting and Drawing forever, It's just something I've always done. I don't know what inspires it.

8. What is the inspiration for your music?

Music, is a lot like the painting. Everything in my Life inspires me to write and record. Mostly misery I guess.

9. Going to conventions you have met a lot of famous people, who is your favorite?

Little Anthony, from The Imperials. The Soup Nazi was a kool guy too.

10. What has been your favorite horror convention that you've been a guest at?

Chiller is always fun. I don't do them that much, I just went to the last one to see a bunch of old friends.

11. What was it like being in Danzig?

It was Great, so was Samhain. What do you think?

12. What horror movie character was your favorite to play & why?

I haven't played one on film yet, but I always wanted to be the Phantom of the Opera.

13. Any current projects?

Yeah another book or 2, another CD, movie coming out, recording, writing, with other artists. Kicking off the first Art/Photography event, to showcase the Fiend Art, and photography, and the Music, in Columbus Oh. June 25th.
