've written a couple of music reviews, too. Nobody at CheckOut was particularly fond of the punky stuff, so when I found time I'd review a record. Click on the images for the full reviews.

This Supersuckers greatest hits collection (though they've never really had a "hit") does a great job of covering the necessities and delivering enough B-sides and oddities to make it perfect both for new fans and long-time collectors. Yes, they covered Ice Cube's "Dead Homies;" they also played "Bloody Mary Morning" with Willie Nelson. Both are here, and they're perfect examples of the weird walls the 'Suckers like to knock down.
I'll confess that I'm a fan of bouncy ska-core, but the third major-label Goldfinger record doesn't live up to the promise of their debut. There are some OK songs, but nothing all that memorable, and their version of "99 Red Ballons" just doesn't compare to the 7 Seconds classic.
