Story.
Ken is
the rich son of a businessman sent to train alongside Ryu
in the same non-lethal form of Ansatsuken to teach him some discipline.
Though while Ryu headed on a journey to better himself, Ken remains driven
by his ego to fight in official martial arts tournament. Forsaking the
Street Fighter 1 tournament, he enters the US Martial Arts Tournament and
through his special skills- utilising the Shoryuken over the Hadouken,
he becomes the new champion. He returns to his sensei's training grounds,
only to witness the death of his master by the hand of the warrior Gouki
(Street Fighter 1.)
Wondering
where his friend and rival Ryu was, and goes to search for him. Finding
Ryu enraged and vexed, he finds himself drawn into a fight with him. Because
of Ryu's mind being clouded by his anger, Ken manages to defeat him. After
the battlke, Ken hands Ryu a red headband; a token to remind Ryu to stay
focused in battle and not to be distracted. Ryu thanks Ken for getting
him back on track, and the two go on their separate ways (Street Fighter
Alpha 2.)
Curious
again on the whereabouts of Ryu, he once again ventures out to search for
him- coming across a young girl called Sakura,
who asks Ken to spar with her for a bit so she can fight against Ryu herself.
Afterwards, both Ken and Sakura venture forth to find Ryu- but instead
find him brainwashed by Bison's Psycho Power.
Sagat, discovering the brainwashed Ryu,
became disgusted by Bison's methods and fought with the brainwashed Ryu-
while Ken held off Bison long enough for Ryu to overcome his mind control.
Ryu, awakened from his brainwashing, thanked Ken, saying that the experience
had given him a new awareness of the potential of martial arts (Street
Fighter Alpha 3.)
Entering
the 2nd Street Fighter tournament, he continued defeating opponents but
eventually met up with his girlfriend, Eliza. Finally settling down a little,
he marries her soon afterwards (Street Fighter 2).
Gaining
his own admirer and student, Sean, he gives the
young boy a challenge- to defeat his rival Ryu, using it as a battle to
point out Sean's weaknesses. Both of them go on to enter the 3rd Street
Fighter tournament, where Ken manages to defeat his student, but didn't
manage to win himself. Despite this, he goes on to train his own son, Mel
Masters, to become a fighter (Street Fighter 3: Double Impact.)
He goes
on to win the US Martial Arts tournament for the second time running. He
offers the trophy to his student Sean, but he declines the offer- saying
he wants to win it for himself (Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike.)
