CastlingCastling is when the King moves two spaces to the left or right followed by the immediate movement of the Rook to the King's opposite side. Note that castling may only occur when there is an open rank between the King and Rook to be castled and when neither the King nor Rook to be castled has been moved. The King may not castle when in check or if the opponent is threatening any of the open rank between the King and the Rook to be castled. |
En PassantEn Passant is when a Pawn that moves two spaces instead of one on it's first move is immediately captured by the opponent's Pawn with his or her own pawn as if the pawn had only moved one space. |
