ENDURING THE MID GAME
By: Steward Nathan Krach

The Mid Game is commonly neglected due to the beginner's tendency to skip the Mid Game and to proceed directly to the End Game. This is caused by a weak defense, an over exaggerated offense and an overall lack of planning. Remember to always have a plan and to always keep the balance between offense and defense. Avoid pointless checking, as there is always a better move to replace it. Always try to keep Queens and Rooks out of the King's direct path to prevent Forks, Skewers, Pins and other generally malicious things that your opponent will do to you if you fail. If you're up Pawns, then trade pieces, if you opponent's up Pawns, then trade Pawns. Finally, always keep an eye on your opponent; don't let them sneak up on you!
