Southern Landmarks Mexican Riviera Cruise Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico April 1, 2005 - April 8, 2005
Mike and Barb.
The dredger on the left is creating a new island in the bay, on the starboard side of our ship.
Mobile Bay. It will be at least 2 hours before we dock.
Mobile Bay from the starboard side.
Mobile Bay from the Bow of our ship.
Taken from our stateroom as we approach ship's terminal in Mobile.
After leaving this ship's terminal we head to Destin, Florida to stay overnight before returning home.
Inside this fella is literally throwing rolls to the patrons. I overhead that he actually plays on a local baseball team. He's pretty fast, and was hard to catch on camera!
After we cross the state line into Florida, there is more evidence of flooding.
This was a common sight all the way into Pensacola.
Pensacola, Florida
Downtown Pensacola. As we drove through downtown there are several eagles with different designs on them. The one on the right happens to have a dollar bill design on it. Mike was moving to fast for me to get the others!
On the left is the Pensacola Convention Center. On the right the tacky old sign directing traffic to the Pensacola Beaches.
As we leave Pensacola the bay.
Crossing the bay.
Destin, Florida
The white sands of Destin.
The Destin Skyline
From our hotel.
Our hotel was located approximately one block from the beach. This was the path that took us to the beach.
The house on the right was still undergoing some repair.
These pictures are extremely deceiving for the conditions this day. The wind was blowing so hard that it was difficult to stand up. And the surf too strong to even wade.
I've always had a love for the sea. In the last two years, I've had the opportunity to take two cruises that make me appreciate it even more. In this last cruise I had the opportunity to experience the sea as never before. If I ever had another love in my life beside my husband, it's the sea.
