Southern Landmarks Mexican Riviera Cruise Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico April 1, 2005 - April 8, 2005
This was our ship, the Carnival Holiday. She is the oldest sailing cruise ship and was commission in 1985. At the time of commission she was one of the largest superliners. Mike and I read several reviews about this ship before we sailed, just as we had done when we sailed on Royal Carribean. Our stateroom was larger than the one we had with Royal Carribean, and in my opinion, the service we had with Carnival was better. The crew was without doubt very warm and friendly. No request was too big or too small.
This photo was taken in the ship's terminal just before we boarded the Holiday.
On the first night of our cruise our steward left us a little critter and chocolates on our bed, along with a paper with the next day's activities.
The next morning we went to The Wharf for coffee, and this was the view from the Lido Deck. There is another ship on the horizon and hard to make out from this photo, but it turned out to be a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
On the days we were at sea, we spent a lot of time here on this deck just watching the waves go by.
On the first day of this cruise, there was a shopping talk about the shops in Costa Maya and Cozumel. The rug displayed in this photo is now very much at home in my home!
On the evening of the first full day at sea, the Captain held a cocktail party which we attended. On the left our Captain was introducing the ships officers. After introductions music and dancing followed.
On the left is our wait staff preparing to serenade us.
Our second night critter, chocolates and paper from our room steward!
