We are fortunate to have du Cret School
of Visual arts agree to exhibit in the upper gallery at the Watchung Arts Center!
"The Pageant of Life," artwork of landscapes and figures, will be offered in a
variety of media and styles, and we can look forward to everything from realism to
abstract. This show,
curated by Danielle Kondracki, was initiated by the Board Members of the Watchung Arts
Center, who felt that the up and coming artists needed our support. There are many
accomplished and talented students within duCret, as well as professional artists.
Among those showing will be Carl Rizzo. Rizzo's figure paintings will dazzle the
viewer's eye with his brave compositions and poetic use of color. Danielle
Kondracki's figure paintings range from abstract to surrealistic. Her painting
"figure one" the first of a series of works, explores color, shape, and
space. Ann Marie DeSantis' landscape painting "Serenity" is best described
by the title. The mountainess tranquility is intensified by her loose brushwork and
watercolor media. This exhibit may be your chance to discover and recognize future
fame and will prove to be a diverse and interesting show.
Join us on Sunday, January 10, 1999 for the
opening reception from 1-4 PM. This is a great time to come and meet the artists to
discuss their techniques and careers. There is no admission charge for the reception
or exhibit. The displayed pieces are available for purchase, unless otherwise
indicated by the artists. Take advantage of this excellent opportunity to purchase
some of the finest works while supporting our local artists.
This exhibit will be on display in the upper gallery of the Watchung Arts Center from January 4 to January 30, 1999 with the gallery hours open Mondays through Saturdays from 1-4pm. Stop in any time and pick up our newsletter for scheduling and performances. The Downstairs gallery will feature Kit
Sailers "Aquaculture" from Jan. 4th
through the 30th.
We serve the community in a number of ways from presenting programs in life drawing and photography, classes and a fine array of evening entertainment including, Jazz, Folk, Diva, Comedy and coming in 1999, Blue Grass Music.
