Roxy Griffin with Dolls and
Danielle Kondracki with Stained Glass

Reception
March 7th 1999
1 - 4 pm

From March 2-28th, 1999 the Watchung Arts Center will have two crafters on display in the foyer. The opening reception will take place on March 7, 1999 from 1 - 4 PM. This will give the public a chance to meet the artists and discuss their work while enjoying a snack for free.

Danielle Kondracki started working with stained glass at the age of 15. Her love of Abstract paintings was her inspiration. She knew when she witnessed the way the light hits and passes through stained glass, splashing vibrant color on the walls and floor that she would soon be creating with this wonderful material.

"I've discovered that if I break down a realistic image into its basic shapes and colors I would end up with an image so similar to stained glass that I had to try it out." The result is incredible, by combining realistic painting and abstract glass work the viewer is pulled in and out of and then in again. Her styles range from traditional to contemporary. She creates picture frames so that a person could enjoy the artistry of stained glass in their homes without worry about window space.

Since 1990, Danielle has worked in her basement studio and has undertaken many commissions for stained glass. These picture frames make unique gifts for home, family, and friends, for all those special occasions. Due to their unique design and construction they are suitable for display in absolutely any

setting.

Danielle has been working in fine arts for many years, and is currently a student of du Cret School of the Arts and is a Watchung resident.

Roxy Griffin is a Plainfield resident who started making wreaths and wall placques as gifts for friends and family about seven years ago. From those simple beginning she has progressed to making dolls. She sells and displays her dolls at craft shows thoughout New Jersey.

Come see Roxy’s charming colorful dolls and Danielle’s beautiful stained glass at the Watchung Arts Center during any of our gallery hours: Mon-Sat from 1-4pm.
